NICKMERCS believes Valkyrie will still dominate Apex Legends despite Season 14 nerfs
Nicholas ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has expressed his opinion on the Valkyrie nerfs from the Apex Legends Season 14 update, claiming that the Legend will still dominate.
Apex Legends Season 14 is looking to shake up the meta with huge buffs to Mad Maggie and a host of changes to Legends and weapons that were mentioned in the patch notes.
As well as this, players will also be getting a brand-new Legend in Vantage, who could also spice things up. One of the biggest nerfs of Season 14 is for Valkyrie, who has dominated the pick rates and competitive scene in Season 13.
Despite the nerfs looking pretty brutal, NICKMERCS still believes the Legend will be very strong in Season 14.
While on stream, NICKMERCS had a look at the Apex Legends Season 14 patch notes to analyze all of the changes coming in the update.
As the streamer has played a decent amount of Valkyrie in Apex, the nerfs she received definitely caught the streamer’s eye. While most in the community have been raving about how big the nerfs are, NICKMERCS still feels that Valkyrie will be dominant.
While looking at the Valkyrie nerf, Nick stated that the changes are “much more chill” than he thought. Ultimately, NICKMERCS feels that Valkyrie will continue to be strong despite the nerfs, as she still has the ability to scan the beacon and find the next ring in Apex Legends Season 14:
“she still got beacon which is f****** huge, that makes her still playable.”
Having said that, Nick does feel that the nerfs to her Passive jetpack are the most prominent and that those changes will definitely make an impact: “her Ult did get nerfed, her Q got nerfed and the jets, the jets got nerfed the most.”
On Valkyrie’s jet nerf, NICKMERCS goes on to say that “you don’t have as much fuel and then every time you use your fuel it takes a lot more. If you get hit while flying it actually like slows you a little bit, I mean that got big time hit.”
Having said that, NICKMERCS ends by saying that Valkyrie “still has beacon though,” showing why he believes she will still be strong despite huge nerfs to her kit.
We’ll have to wait and see just how much these nerfs affect Valkyrie once players have spent some time with the new Apex Legends Season 14 update. For now, check out the highly requested quality of life change coming to Season 14.
