Nickmercs reveals the 3 things warzone needs to survive

Top Warzone streamer Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has broken down the top three changes Raven Software desperately needs to make for the game to survive, besides the obvious anti-cheat.

Warzone has gone through some significant changes since it was first released in March 2020, well over a year ago. We’ve had Black Ops Cold War’s integration which added a ton of new weapons, as well as the updated Verdansk ’84 map.

However, some don’t feel that these changes have been enough. Streamer NICKMERCS has broken down “everything Warzone needs to be good again,” on top of the proper anti-cheat which many feel the game desperately needs.

Warzone Season 4 Operators

Even though NICKMERCS is one of the most-watched Warzone streamers and regularly reveals meta-defining weapon loadouts, he’s never been afraid of expressing his displeasure with the game.

After already quitting competitive Warzone because of cheaters, Nick has even toyed with ditching the regular battle royale mode. Frustrated with the state of the game, NICKMERCS explained the top three things he feels Warzone “needs to survive.”

He started by clarifying that an anti-cheat isn’t on this list. “That’s a no-brainer,” he said. “Everyone knows that an anti-cheat is the first step, the first real step, into making sure this thing actually lasts a long, long time.”

Warzone Verdansk 84 stadium

“The first biggest thing in… our opinion is a new map,” NICKMERCS revealed. “We need a change from Verdansk – I think it was a swing and a miss. I thought at first it might have some sauce, some play where they added the Plaza Downtown, couple cool little changes.

“But ultimately, I don’t think we’re messing with this stuff. I think we need a brand-new map, brand-new. I want like an island theme – beaches, and ocean, and palm trees, and ‘jungle-y,’ that’s what I want.”

Next, up he said that console Warzone needs a FOV Slider. “Every day I get people in my Twitch chat complaining about not having an FOV slider,” he explained. “It’s been something that everybody’s wanted for a long time.”

And lastly, NICKMERCS said that Raven Software “need to be quicker to fix bugs and broken in-game glitches.”

He explained that “these things can’t go on for weeks and months. They can’t happen, get fixed, and then happen again. Every update, bro, there’s a new invis glitch, a new stim glitch, stuns turn into Charizards – it’s all bad.”

It’s possible that there will be a new map soon, as a WWII-themed Pacific map is reportedly arriving with Vanguard. As for a console FOV slider, Raven has confirmed they’re “aware” of the requests, but can’t share a timeframe for its arrival.

Best Fennec loadout for CoD: Warzone Season 5

The Fennec continues to be a fearsome SMG in Call of Duty: Warzone, and this is the best loadout class for it in Season 5.

Best Warzone Fennec Loadout

Warzone has largely been dominated by the same few guns, and the Fennec SMG received a major buff in Season 5 to bring it up to that level, so we’ve created the best Warzone Fennec loadout.

The Call of Duty battle royale has seen various SMGs and Assault Rifles reign supreme over the meta. However, there are some hidden gems when it comes to weapons in Warzone that can excel when built to maximize their strengths.

One of these is the Fennec SMG, and Warzone’s August 16 update gave it a buff. Now, this weapon is in the spotlight, and you can make the best loadout for it with the right attachments and Perks.

Best Fennec Warzone loadout

Fennec loadout attachments

Best Warzone Fennec loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: ZLR18” Deadfall
  • Stock: No Stock
  • Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 40 Round Drum Mags

We’ll start off this Warzone loadout by equipping the Monolithic Suppressor to increase the weapon’s range. This also has the additional benefit of helping you stay hidden from your enemies.

The ZLR18″ Deadfall will provide a boost to the weapon’s damage output at range and bring some of its volatile SMG-recoil under control. This way, you’ll be able to hit your targets with greater precision while hip-firing.

We’re decided to go with No Stock for this loadout since minor recoil increases are gladly compensated for with snappier ADS time, and the Merc Foregrip will provide the weapon with additional hip-fire accuracy in close quarters.

Finally, we’ve gone for the popular 40 Round Drum Mags for ammunition to take full advantage of the weapon’s awesome bullet velocity.

Best Perks to use with Warzone Fennec class

E.O.D perk in Warzone
  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill / Ghost
  • Perk 3: Combat Scout

We recommend picking E.O.D for your first Perk as you’ll often encounter enemies that will throw explosives at you. This perk will help you negate the damage that they can deal to you.

You’ll want to couple this SMG with a Sniper or Assault Rifle, so you should pick Overkill to carry another primary weapon. Then, you can take Ghost from your second loadout drop to hide from enemy UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors.

Finally, picking Combat Scout as your third Perk in this Warzone Fennec loadout will highlight enemies that you hit with a shot and marks them for your entire squad. Top player JGOD called this perk OP.

Custom colored Warzone Fennec

As we’ve mentioned, Warzone’s Season 5 update gave the Fennec a buff. The weapon has struggled to gain footing due to some glaring weaknesses in the past, and that has now changed.

Here are the most recent changes to the Fennec in full:

  • Bullet Velocity increased by 13.4%

The Fennec (MW) has struggled to gain footing due to some glaring weaknesses. This change will make the Fennec (MW) viable at slightly further distances.

How to unlock the Fennec

Fennec SMG in Warzone

In order to unlock this SMG, you’ll need to complete a challenge that requires you to get 5 kills while using an SMG with the Solozero Optics Mini Reflex and Ranger Foregrip in 10 different matches.

Just hop into a few games with those attachments and you’ll get it done in no time. Once that’s done, you’ll be able to use the Fennec in Warzone.

Best Alternatives

If the Fennec doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, there are plenty of other options. The TEC-9 SMG is one of the newest additions in Season 5 and comes with three modes of fire that suit a wide variety of playstyles.

Does Warzone have split-screen? Latest information

Split-screen is classic video game feature that has been slowly disappearing in recent years, but does Call of Duty: Warzone have it?

Published

on

Two Warzone characters and logo

A key part of the success of Call of Duty: Warzone is the ability to squad up and play online with friends. But if your desired teammate is in the same room as you, can you play split-screen in Warzone?

There’s no denying that while there’s plenty of reasons to drop into a game of Warzone, it’s the ability to play with friends that keep many fans coming back.

Tackling the latest season, or the new Iron Trials mode, with a squad of friends on the mic makes the experience much smoother.

But what if the person you want to play with is in the same house, on the same console? Let’s take a look at everything we know about Warzone split-screen.

Does Warzone have split-screen?

Many games have offered split-screen options in the past to let friends share the same TV or monitor but control separate characters. Split-screen isn’t always a priority for developers, as wider access to online services has made it far less of a must-have

The feature is mainly used in games that promote co-op campaigns, like Halo or Borderlands 3. Call of Duty’s traditional multiplayer mode did adopt the feature as far back as Call of Duty 2 and continues to support it in Black Ops Cold War. Disappearing

Unfortunately, Warzone doesn’t have the option of split-screen play. The only solution for players at the moment is to set up a separate console and screen with an online connection – which may not be practical for some.

Two Warzone characters aiming at enemies

No specific reasons have been given by Raven as to why Warzone doesn’t have split-screen, although it could be related to the sheer size and scale of each game.

However, fellow battle royale Fortnite did add the feature later on after fans consistently called for it, so there is always a chance Warzone split-screen come in a future update.

For now, players will have to ask their friends to bring their consoles with them to have any hope of recreating a similar experience that Warzone split-screen would provide.

Best OTs 9 loadout for CoD: Warzone Season 5

The OTs 9 SMG is a powerful weapon in Warzone’s, so here are the attachments and Perks to make the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout in Season 5.

Best Warzone ots 9 loadout

The OTs 9 SMG is another meta pick in Warzone’s huge arsenal of weaponry, so here are the best attachments and Perks to make the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout and maximize its potential in Season 5.

Warzone’s Season 5 Reloaded update brought various weapon balance changes. Although the brand new weapons did take a dominant stance this season, the OTs 9 from Season 4 remains a great choice to consider.

The OTs 9 boasts a highly competitive time to kill, so you can use it to dominate your opponents in close-range combat. However, its small magazine size holds it back somewhat.

Luckily, we can fix that with the attachments and Perks to run to make the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout.

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap
  • Ammunition: Spetsnaz 40 Rnd

The best Warzone OTs 9 loadout is built to dominate at close range but will be better suited for Warzone Solos and Duo matches because of its small magazine size.

To start the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout, we’ve opted for the GRU Suppressor. This is the standard for most SMG builds because of its massive increase in bullet velocity, range, and recoil control while keeping you off the minimap when firing.

Next, the 8.1″ Task Force barrel further increases this range while boosting strafe speed. Its only downside is that it will make the OTs kick more, but it’s perfect for a close-range build.

You’ll need to bring the weapon’s vertical and horizontal recoil under control, so it’s worth equipping the Spetsnaz Grip underbarrel. However, this will cost you in terms of both regular and ADS firing move speeds.

We’ll compensate for that with the Serpent Wrap rear grip. This will provide the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout with some extra ADS time at the cost of a slight reduction in your sprint to fire time. Lastly, to get the largest magazine size possible, you should use the Spetsnaz 40 Rnd mag.

Best Perks to use with OTs 9 class

Warzone E.O.D, overkill, and amped perks
  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill then Ghost
  • Perk 3: Combat Scout

For Perks, the meta has been given a reshuffle thanks to Season 5, and it has seen some new Perks shift this slightly. The classic perks are still powerful, especially for the OTs 9, hence our choice.

To start, you want to use E.O.D to survive any explosive damage, which is necessary when using an SMG up-close. Then, you want to use Overkill to pair the OTs 9 with a FARA 83 or Swiss K31. Afterward, you want to take Ghost from your next loadout to hide from Heartbeat Sensors and UAVs.

We would be foolish not to pick Amped for our final Perk, as this perk allows you to switch weapons much faster and makes sure you do not get caught switching weapons when an enemy begins to fire at you.

Most recent OTs 9 buffs and nerfs in Warzone

Raven Software realizes that the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout is a popular wrecking machine in Warzone Season 5 and has recently taken action to rein it back slightly.

The September 15 update increased the weapon’s recoil while reducing the headshot, neck multipliers, and damage range.

Here are all the recent changes to the OTs 9

  • Recoil increased slightly.
  • Maximum damage decreased 34 ⇒ 31.
  • Minimum damage increased 20 ⇒ 21.
  • Headshot multiplier increased 1.35 ⇒ 1.52.
  • Neck multiplier decreased 1.35 ⇒ 1.

How to unlock the OTs 9

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout

Unlocking the OTs 9 is relatively simple but time-consuming, requiring you to complete at least 15 different matches.

This is the challenge you will need to complete:

  • Using SMGs, kill 2 or more players rapidly in 15 different completed matches.

We recommend jumping into either Plunder or Rebirth Island, where you’ll have many more opportunities to get two SMG kills in quick succession.

Best alternatives

If you haven’t unlocked the OTs 9 yet or are looking for something with more ammo for squad matches, there are plenty of viable choices besides the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout.

The Bullfrog’s large magazine size makes it a competitive choice in any squad mode, and you can’t go wrong with Modern Warfare’s MP5.
