NICKMERCS explains why he doesn’t want Warzone to leave Verdansk

The recent leak of a Ural Mountains Warzone map led NICKMERCS to give his thoughts on if he would like to see a new map come to the battle royale.

Fan-favorite content creator NICKMERCS recently commented on whether or not he would like to see a completely new map come to Call of Duty: Warzone or if Verdansk should continue to be updated likes it has so far.

The map of Warzone had gone through plenty of changes following its initial version when the Call of Duty battle royale was first released in 2020. One of the most notable changes that occurred was the transformation of Verdansk into Verdansk ’84 to kick off Season 3 of the Black Ops Cold War cycle.

This time-traveling transformation saw the additions of various new points of interest like Summit and Nakatomi Plaza, which have been looked upon fondly by players.

However, there are community members who would like to see a completely new map come to the world of Warzone in the same way that Apex Legends and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds have multiple maps for players to battle on.

The discussion of a completely new Warzone map became the main topic of discussion in the community again thanks to a recent leak showing off gameplay of an unreleased Ural Mountains Warzone map that never came to be.

This leaked Ural Mountains map resulted in popular content creator NICKMERCS giving his thoughts on whether or not Warzone needs a completely new map.

In his video, NICKMERCS explains that he has been a fan of the reoccurring updates to Verdansk, especially Nakatomi Plaza from the Die Hard film franchise.

He says that he would not mind not having a completely new map for Warzone if the developers made major changes like Nakatomi Plaza to Verdansk regularly.

However, he states that if the community has to wait weeks and months for only additions like a single building, he is not onboard with only updates to Verdansk if they are of that nature.

It remains to be seen if Warzone will ever get a completely new map or if Verdansk will be the basis of the Call of Duty battle royale forever and will transform based upon the main entry in the franchise at the time, such as Verdansk ’84 and Black Ops Cold War.

Warzone hackers bring flying cars to Caldera

Warzone’s infamous flying car exploit is back with a vengeance as hackers revived the hated cheat and brought it to Caldera.

Warzone flying cars hack

After first appearing in Verdansk, hackers have brought flying cars to Warzone Pacific with an exploit that is being dubbed the “Harry Potter glitch.”

Although the RICOCHET anti-cheat has weeded out a significant number of hackers, running into players who abuse cheats in Warzone can still occur from time to time. The latest exploit that is running rampant across Warzone Pacific is one that gives vehicles the ability to fly.

Warzone players will be familiar with this particular exploit as it first appeared in Verdansk before players moved to Caldera. Now the flying cars are back to frustrate players who are simply trying to enjoy Warzone as intended.

Warzone Pacific vehicles

After clips of hackers with damage disabled warmed the hearts of Warzone players earlier in the week, it seems the balance has been restored as hackers have found a way to score a point for their team.

To make matters worse, the flying car cheat looks much easier to control this time around. In the previous installment control over the flying vehicle seemed to be an issue but in Caldera, this isn’t the case.

As seen in the video above, a squad of players can easily take down targets from the advantageous position granted by the flying car. When combined with cheats for aiming, the flying car becomes an unstoppable force that makes hackers impossible to kill.

This is the latest issue that is currently making the game unplayable for Warzone players. Luckily, Raven Software were quick to act to remove the previous iteration of flying cars from Warzone.

Although Raven has yet to respond to the new version of this classic exploit, hopefully, a quick fix is in the works so players won’t have to look to the sky in frustration much longer.

How to stop freezing at Warzone Buy Stations

Warzone players have been getting stuck at Buy Stations since the Pacific update but luckily, there’s an easy fix.

Warzone player stuck at Buy Station

Warzone players have been repeatedly dying to a Buy Station glitch where the game locks them in place almost every time they open one. Luckily, there’s a simple way to avoid it happening to you.

Although Warzone players have been enjoying Vanguard’s weapons on the brand new map, the constant stream of bugs and glitches has been hampering the experience for many.

One of the most frustrating issues is the Buy Station freeze glitch, where Warzone completely freezes when players attempt to open Buy Station. Usually, Warzone comes back to life after about ten seconds, but sometimes it causes the game to crash completely.

However, there’s a surprisingly simple way to avoid the dreaded Buy Station freeze glitch.

How to avoid Warzone Buy Station freeze on Xbox, PlayStation & PC

Samantha Maxis using Buy Station in Warzone

As discovered by Call of Duty content creator ProReborn, don’t slide into Buy Stations or Loadout Drops as doing so will “crash or freeze your game.”

One player confirmed it worked for them, saying they “figured this out today.” Although there’s no guarantee it will work every time, it’s well worth trying out until Raven Software release an official fix.

It’s a force of habit for Warzone players to slide into Loadout Drops and Buy Stations to open them, but you’ll need to unlearn the habit for the time being as sliding will only get you stuck in place, forcing you to await your doom.

The next major Warzone update will be Season 2, which players are hoping will fix a ton of issues plaguing the game such as invisible skins, players redeploying with their loadout, and Xbox performance issues.

The Buy Station freezing glitch is on their Trello board as “under investigation,” so hopefully they get to the bottom of the issue soon.

How to turn off crossplay in Vanguard & Warzone Pacific

Here’s what you need to do in order to turn off Call of Duty’s Crossplay functionality in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Published

how to turn of crossplay Vanguard Warzone

While playing Call of Duty with your friends on different platforms can be fun, there is a risk of you encountering hackers and cheaters even after the launch of RICOCHET. You can avoid that by using our guide to turn off crossplay in Vanguard & Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Crossplay in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific is a feature that connects players across all platforms through an “Activision Account.” Players who do not opt-in to this system will be unable to play cross-platform across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

If you do have an Activision Account, you will be automatically entered into the crossplay player pool by default. If you feel like this isn’t for you, and you want the option to disable this, then follow our quick and easy guide.

How to turn off crossplay for Vanguard

Vanguard Crossplay setting
  1. Log into Vanguard Multiplayer
  2. Navigate to ‘Settings’
  3. Go to the ‘Account & Network’ tab
  4. Change Crossplay from ‘On’ to ‘Off’

How To Turn off Warzone Pacific Crossplay

  1. Log into Warzone
  2. Go to the ‘Options’ section
  3. Navigate to the ‘Account’ tab
  4. Change Crossplay from ‘Enabled’ to ‘Disabled’

Once crossplay is disabled, you’ll only matchmake against players on your native platform. You can toggle crossplay back on at any time. We especially recommend having it on while queuing for Warzone.

Why turn off crossplay for Vangaurd & Warzone Pacific ?

Simply put, cheaters and hackers. If you’re a console-only player, you might run into a few from the PC platform. While RICOCHET has helped significantly reduce the number of hackers, running into a cheater can still occur with some cheat providers refusing to back down.

We strongly recommend keeping crossplay on to ensure the queue times stay short, we also understand that running into cheaters is not fun.

Unfortunately, if you’re on PC, turning off crossplay will significantly increase your matchmaking times. We do not recommend turning off crossplay unless you are on a console.

Why should I keep crossplay on?

If you’re wondering why you should keep crossplay on – first and foremost, interconnectivity. With crossplay enabled, you can play with Call of Duty friends on other platforms. If this is off, players on other platforms won’t be able to join your sessions and you won’t be able to join them.

Secondly, matchmaking times will be impacted if you turn off crossplay. More so on PC than other platforms, but the matchmaking pool you enter into on console will be against players with no Activision ID and other players who have turned off crossplay.

Lastly, connections. You’ll be entered into a more narrow pool of players, so this could also have a negative impact on your ping. Overall though, you should still be thrown into the best available games.
