NICKMERCS explains why Warzone’s FFAR is going to get nerfed

Warzone streamer Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff has explained why he believes the FFAR 1 will be “nerfed into the ground” during Season 2.

Streamer NICKMERCS has had his finger on the pulse of Warzone’s ever-changing meta since the game launched in March 2020. Warzone has seen several weapons dominate the game over its first year, but developers take a rather cut-throat approach to balancing the best of the best, and Nick believes the FFAR 1 is next to the chopping block.

“The FFAR is one hundred percent the most used weapon right now in Warzone, and by far the most powerful gun in Warzone as well,” NICKMERCS explained.

“The gun has taken over the game for quite some time now, and whenever this happens in the history of the game, it’s only a matter of time before it gets nerfed into the ground.”

“The same thing happened with the DMR, same thing happened with the Bruen, same thing happened with the Grau, same thing happened with the doof-doof (R-90),” he described. “Gun takes over the game, everybody complains, update rolls out, and bada-bing bada-boom, the gun’s off the grid.”

While the backlash is nowhere near as strong as it has been for other weapons such as the DMR, developers like to keep the meta ever-changing. For example, the AUG has risen to long-range dominance following updates made in the Season 2 update.

With Season 2 well underway, NICKMERCS says he wouldn’t be surprised if the FFAR receives this nerf ahead of Season 3. Although he’s among the players taking full advantage of the FFAR’s power, he admits he’s “cool with some adjustments and some changes to the current game we play.”

By looking at the previous examples Nick listed, it’s highly likely that the FFAR is due a strong nerf sometime soon.
