NICKMERCS reveals dominant AK-74u Warzone class

Liam Mackay

Streamer NICKMERCS has revealed his AK-74u SMG loadout for Warzone Season 1, which was so effective it surprised even him.

When NICKMERCS‘ viewers asked him to try out the AK-74u, he was hesitant as the MAC-10 has been dominating close-quarters combat in Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

However, he admitted that it’s a great gun. While it doesn’t have the MAC-10’s insanely fast TTK, it’s more versatile and can help you out in a medium-range situation. In the gameplay he uploaded, you can see how the AK-74u effortlessly rips through armor plates and eliminates players, surprising even Nick himself.

Here are the attachments NICKMERCS used to dominate Warzone with the AK-74u.

  • Muzzle: Spetsnaz Compensator
  • Stock: No Stock
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Ammunition: VDV 50 Round Fast Mag
  • Rear Grip: Spetsnaz Field Grip

Nick built this AK-74u for speed at close range, with a large magazine to take out multiple enemies at once. He paired it with Modern Warfare’s Kilo 141, which has remained the most powerful Assault Rifle in Warzone.

The Spetsnaz Compensator and Spetsnaz Grip make this weapon as accurate as it can be. The Compensator reduces vertical recoil, and the Grip helps to keep both horizontal and vertical recoil under control, allowing him to be incredibly accurate at close quarters. It also makes the weapon effective at medium range if your primary is out of ammo.

He also opted for No Stock and added the Spetsnaz Field Grip to increase his mobility. Speed is a hugely important factor in Warzone, with the player to get his weapon up first often winning the fight. These two attachments combined increase the ’74u’s sprint-to-fire time, aim down sight speed and flinch resistance.

And finally, NICKMERCS added VDV 50 Round Fast Mag. In his gameplay, you can see him down three players in succession without having to reload. The only downside to this large mag is that it makes the weapon heavier, increasing your ADS time. However, the damage potential it provides makes this a worthwhile trade-off.

The MAC-10 is still the dominant weapon at close range, but if you’re looking for more versatility, the AK-74u is an incredibly strong choice.
