NICKMERCS reveals his powerful “no recoil” Warzone Season 3 Grau

Top Warzone streamer NICKMERCS has revealed his “no recoil” Grau 5.56 loadout, which he says is a great choice in Season 3.

NICKMERCS Warzone Grau

The Grau 5.56 dominated Warzone’s meta in the early months of the game, and following significant nerfs to Cold War’s weapons in Season 3, top streamer Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff believes it’s back.

Warzone has gone through several weapon metas, but many players consider the Grau 5.56 to be the best and most balanced. A nerf to the Grau all the way back in July 2020, buffs to other weapons, and the integration of Cold War’s guns made the Grau somewhat lackluster.

However, following nerfs made in Warzone’s Season 3 update, streamer NICKMERCS believes that the Grau has climbed back to the top of the pack. After members of Nick’s community said he should try the Grau, citing popular YouTuber JGOD, he tried it out again with great success.

NICKMERCS Grau Warzone

Using the Grau, NICKMERCS was on pace for a 40 kill game and said it’s likely that it’ll be one of the best gameplays he’ll upload for a while. Even though he didn’t hit the 40, he still put up a more than respectable 30 kill game.

Nick said that the Grau is “definitely viable, definitely great,” and it and the Kilo 141 are “lit” in Season 3. However, he said he feels that the M4A1 is lacking this season.

Nick built his Grau 5.56 out for range, using the previous meta attachments for the weapon. As stated in the title of the video, his Grau is built to have “no recoil,” capable of lasering enemies at medium and long-range with pinpoint accuracy.

NICKMERCS’ Grau 5.56 loadout for Season 3

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus 26.2″ Archangel
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags

Nick’s Grau 5.56 is designed to beam enemies at medium-long range with no recoil. For extra range, he added the Monolithic Suppressor and Tempus 26.2″ Archangel barrel. These attachments vastly improve the weapon’s bullet velocity and damage over distance.

To make sure he accurately hits these long-range shots, NICKMERCS used the VLK 3.0x Optic because it provides an unobtrusive picture of targets, and the Commando Foregrip almost completely removes the recoil. And finally, Nick used the 60 Round Mags to take out multiple targets without having to reload.

Warzone Season 3 brought the most significant content drop Warzone has seen since the integration with Cold War in December 2020. But now, Verdansk is set for even more major changes as the roadmap for Season 4 has divulged lots of new details regarding Call of Duty: Warzone.

Here’s everything we know about Warzone Season 4, from its release date to its exciting new content.

Another trailer was also released putting a magnifying glass over the lore and story developments concerning Verdansk, giving more background into the events leading up to the present day.

Warzone Season 4 Roadmap

Warzone Season 4 Roadmap

June 14, 2021, saw the official Season 4 roadmap for the Call of DUty’s Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. It has detailed all the different additions on the way, and when we can expect them to arrive.

As with most new CoD seasons, there is a plethora of new items and locations for fans to get a taste of soon enough.

Warzone Season 4 Red Doors

Warzone red door fast travel

A new fast travel system was leaked for Verdansk ’84, in which players will traverse through ‘Red Doors.’ Activision reportedly sent out a survey asking players which parts of the map they most enjoy.

These Red Doors were confirmed on June 14 to be arriving in Warzone at the launch of Season 4. You can find the official description of the Warzone Red Doors below:

Warzone Season 4 Red Doors

“Our intel cannot explain the origin of these mysterious red doors around Verdansk, but one thing is certain: They allow you to [[REDACTED]] around the [[REDACTED]]. What’s behind them? Explore and enter them to [[REDACTED]] across the [[REDACTED]].

Red Doors won’t [[REDACTED]] unless you ping them, and after you step through, there’s no telling [[REDACTED]] exiting out the other side… and stepping into a [[REDACTED]].”

Warzone Season 4 Ground Fall Event

Warzone Season 4 Ground Fall Event

Season 4 will kick off with the new Ground Fall Event that will task players with obtaining SAT-Links from the crashed satellites across Verdansk ’84 to earn new rewards. You can find all of the official details for the event below:

“Kicking off Season Four, the “Ground Fall” limited-time event will have you find and secure SAT-Links to score exclusive rewards for your global profile across Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.

For this event, you’ll tackle objectives pertaining to the new modes, maps, and weaponry in Black Ops Cold War and to the new Points of Interest in Warzone. Completing these objectives will reward you with items such as Emblems, Calling Cards, and a Satellite Weapon Charm, as well as some XP. Complete every challenge, and you’ll receive an Epic Secondary Weapon Blueprint that is truly out of this world.

You can find more details about this event in the Seasonal Event tab on the main menu between Play and Weapons once Season Four kicks off in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.”

New CoD: Warzone Season 4 weapons: MG 82, C58, Nail Gun, OTS 9, Mace

Warzone baseball bat execution

Following on from recent seasons, Warzone is getting a healthy dose of firepower added to its already stacked roster of guns.

June 14, 2021, saw Activision confirm that the new weapons that players will be able to get in Warzone Season 4 will be the MG 82 LMG, C58 Assault Rifle, Nail Gun SMG, OTs 9 SMG, Mace, and the Baseball Bat – which Cold War players already have access to.

New Warzone Satellite POIs

The gameplay trailer released on June 10 also showed the community a first look at a new Point of Interest that will be added to Verdansk ’84 in Season 4. This new POI looks to be a crashed Satellite from space.

The official details for these new Satellite Crash POIs were revealed in the June 14 post on the Call of Duty Blog, which you can find below:

“Several Satellites have crash-landed in Verdansk, leaving you and your squad to investigate their rubble.

Although they won’t appear on your Tac Map, the Satellite Crash Sites will be plainly visible in Verdansk, as the debris and impact on the landscape is significant. Besides offering new opportunities for cover, the satellites themselves can also be secured.

Interact with the Sat-Links found in the area to work toward receiving permanent rewards in the Ground Fall event at the beginning of the season. Also, secure helpful items to use during the match, such as powerful Killstreaks, vehicles, and Field Upgrades.”

New Season 4 Hijacked Gulag

The Season 4 gameplay trailer gave viewers a small look at the updated Gulag for the new period of content that will launch on June 17.

Call of Duty General Manager Johanna Faries also stated during the Season 4 reveal during the Summer Games Fest that Hijacked from Black Ops II will be a new Gulag that players can battle each other on.

Hijacked being the Season 4 Gulag was once again confirmed in the June 14 Call of Duty Blog post. You can find the official description for the new Gulag below:

“Prepare for your mission in Black Ops Cold War and challenge a rival to win back deployment to Warzone with this mock-up of the classic map Hijacked, which will replace the current Standoff Gulag when Season Four launches.

This truncated version features a plywood re-creation of the yacht’s central area, a prime location for important objectives such as a Domination flag in Multiplayer, which has the same location as the Overtime flag spawn during a Gulag duel.

No need to worry about rough waters here, although you may need to avoid hitting the rocks being thrown from the balconies during your fight for survival.”

New Warzone Season 4 dirt bike vehicle

Warzone players will also get treated to a new vehicle in Season 4, as the Dirt Bike from Black Ops Cold War will be arriving in Verdansk ’84. You can find the description of this new vehicle below:

“Terror on two wheels arrives in Warzone with the release of the Dirt Bike, the first brand-new vehicle to drop into the DZ. Ramp up your off-road antics with this extremely maneuverable scrambler, scattered across Verdansk and ready to use at the start of a match.

Warzone Season 4 Dirt Bike

With an excellent turning radius, carry yourself and a companion across the concrete jungle, up goat trails, and down rock-filled ravines with ease. Deft and nimble, this new option to the Warzone ground transportation fleet is ready to compete with the ATV in terms of furious off-road action.

In addition to becoming the new fastest vehicle in Warzone, the Dirt Bike will have some unique handling properties, such as wheel traction, sliding, drifting, and vehicle leaning, allowing you to take epic hairpin turns, dodge oncoming fire, or pull off sick stunts by controlling your orientation in the air.

In addition, all Dirt Bike skins you may have unlocked in Black Ops Cold War (e.g., via previous Battle Passes or Store Bundles) will be accessible, allowing you to customize your ride as soon as you saddle up.”

CoD: Warzone & Cold War Season 4 teaser

Ahead of the official launch of Warzone and Cold War Season 4, the final cinematic for Season 3 was revealed. Following Adler’s capture and rescue in Season 3, this new teaser shows Stitch hatching the next stage of his evil plan.

This cutscene once again hints at the leaked Red Door fast travel system (discussed further down) and teases a new Operator. Wraith says, “Our man in South Africa is standing by,” hinting at a new Operator, although that’s the only information we have so far.

Warzone Season 4 potential map changes

Verdansk 84 stadium

Warzone Season 3 brought the most significant map changes that the game has seen so far. Rather than some new mechanics or changes to a POI, Verdansk was nuked and we traveled back in time to Verdansk ’84 – debuting Array, Standoff, and other locations.

With the map still being only a season old, it’s highly unlikely that Verdansk will undergo such significant changes again in Season 4. However, there are likely to be some updates.

With the map reverting back to the 80s, Stadium hasn’t been built yet. It’s currently under construction, so it’s possible that it will be more built up and closer to the original Stadium.

As we saw with the positively-received Nakatomi Plaza and its elusive Vault of rewards, Raven Software is not afraid to make significant changes that can greatly alter the way games of Warzone play out.

New Warzone Season 4 Game Modes

The community will also be treated to some new game modes in Season 4 of Warzone. These new game modes include Verdansk Resurgence Mini and Payload. You can find the descriptions for these new game modes below:

“The Resurgence has spread from Rebirth Island to Verdansk, and now every kill counts even more toward victory.

This new playlist mimics the Rebirth Island Resurgence experience more accurately compared to the standard Verdansk Resurgence Battle Royale.

In addition to the standard rules — no Gulag, extreme clarity on enemy positions upon elimination of a squad member, a Resurgence timer, and special Supply Boxes — the Verdansk Resurgence Mini features more intimate lobby sizes of 44 to 45 Operators at maximum, depending on the squad size.

Games begin in a compact DZ, with circles inside a random position in Verdansk. The first circle will be “skipped” to create a small, dense, and action-packed starting area. The items you’ll find around here are more frequent and of higher quality compared to a traditional Battle Royale mode, with games also expected to be shorter in length on average for a truly bite-sized first-person shooter survival experience.

This game mode will be available in a variety of squad sizes — Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads — which is likely to swap into the Featured Playlist Rotation weekly following Season Four’s launch.”

Warzone thus far has been a game of “kill or be killed.” However, during Season Four, Operators will be able to drop in for the game’s first-ever objective-based game mode: Payload.

In Payload, you and 39 other Operators drop in to escort two caravans of vehicles through a series of checkpoints or sabotage the mission. Build or destroy barriers and purchase buildings to aid in your squad’s mission, and be sure to collect any contracts you find around Verdansk, as they will help lead to success.

More details are to come on this new mode later this season.”

Alongside the brand new weapons and maps for Warzone and Cold War Season 4, the game will be introducing its first Ultra-rarity Operator skin. New Operator Jackal will receive a unique color-changing outfit, something Verdansk has never seen before.

This new skin “allows Jackal to come alive with a mesmerizing light pattern across his entire jumpsuit and mask,” making it a highly sought-after item in Season 4.
