Nickmercs reveals the best Sniper for Warzone Season 1

While the DMR may be dominating the Warzone Season 1 meta, FaZe Clan streamer NICKMERCS has a Kar98k class that will help you dominate.

While the DMR still reigns supreme in Warzone Season 1, those looking to wield a different sniper while searching for wins have a new option thanks to Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff’s Kar98k loadout.

Warzone is currently dominated by the DMR Marksman Rifle from Black Ops Cold War, which is so powerful and has such little recoil that it almost feels unfair to pick enemies off with it. The meta continues to be a controversial one, with many calling for the weapon to be given a significant nerf in the next update for the battle royale mode.

Should the devs finally decide to do so, it seems that the Kar98k will be the go-to weapon of choice for true long-range gunfights once again, with NICKMERCS testing it out again in his latest video.

The Kar98k was a popular choice in Season 5 and 6, and with no major nerfs to make it less powerful, the only reason it isn’t a feature in players’ loadouts right now is the power of the DMR, but even now this sniper rifle can compete if you have the right loadout.

The DMR from Black Ops Cold War.

“This thing has always been the big ‘dingaling’ in Warzone for as long as I can remember,” explained the FaZe Clan star. “The Kar98 has always been the fastest way to put someone down.”

“Even with all the new guns being added, [enemies] still don’t stand a chance. Sniping is so satisfying. It’s not always the best option, but if you want to have some fun, sniping in Warzone is a fantastic way to do that.”

In his gameplay, NICKMERCS showed that the Kar98k was still an incredibly dangerous weapon in the right hands, picking enemies out of the sky with ease, and finding double and even triple kills with the sniper. You can check him out in action below, and get a breakdown of NICKMERCS Kar98k class.

NICKMERCS’ Kar98k Loadout

  • Muzzle – Monolithic Suppressor: Stay hidden from radar and get bonus damage at range. A must for all weapons in Warzone.
  • Barrel – Singuard Custom 27.6″: Extra damage range with added bullet velocity. Makes long-range headshots easier to achieve at the cost of movement speed.
  • Laser – Tac Laser: Extra aim down sight speed, weapon stability, and steadiness, but leaves a laser visible to enemies when aiming down sight. You’ll also show a glint when sniping, so the lasers upsides heavily outweigh the downsides.
  • Optic- Sniper Scope: Turns the Kar98k from a regular bolt-action rifle to a long-range sniper that awards marksmen.
  • Rear Grip- Stippled Grip Tape: Extra aim down sight speed and sprint to fire speed makes this a medium/long-range weapon hybrid.

Tips For The Field

  • Hot feet only – Don’t be afraid to play aggressively. The exceptional aim down sight speed in combination with the Kar98k’s sprint out speed makes this a quick scoping machine. Aim for the head and watch enemies fall instantly at all ranges.
  • CRACK! – Can’t hit a headshot? Aim for the upper body. The Kar98k is an armor cracking machine. Pair it up with an SMG of choice for easy combo kills. Crack armor, then rush with an SMG when in medium-range engagements.
  • Accuracy and timing – Headshots are instant downs with the Kar98k. Memorize bullet drop at long ranges and be sure to time your shots when in the heat of battle. Missing a shot can result in catastrophe while chambering the next round.

Forgotten Warzone AR set to outshine powerful STG in Season 3

A Warzone expert proves that a forgotten Cold War Assault Rifle can best the STG’s firepower in Pacific Season 3.

Warzone Pacific Season 3 Krig 6 Rebirth Island

A Warzone content creator has revealed that a forgotten Assault Rifle can rival the STG, which is considered one of the best weapons in Season 3.

Following the Season 3 update, the Warzone meta has undergone some drastic changes. It wasn’t just the Sniper meta that changed as several players predicted. The best Assault Rifles in the game also underwent major changes.

Thanks to buffs to most Vanguard weapons, the STG44 is currently an extremely powerful option across Caldera and Rebirth Island. Despite the weapon’s recent dominance, a Warzone expert has claimed that a forgotten AR can keep up with the STG44.

Krig 6 in Warzone

Cold War’s Krig 6 certainly enjoyed a spell in the Warzone spotlight when the weapon was the top AR option. It has since declined in popularity with a pick rate of only 0.94% at this stage of Season 3.

Despite the Krig’s apparent lack of viability, Warzone expert TheKoreanSavage was able to prove that the Assault Rifle is a highly underrated option for players, “it feels like the STG44, but for some reason, it feels better.”

TheKoreanSavage’s Warzone Krig 6 loadout

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 15″ CMV Mil-Spec
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Magazine: STANAG 60 Rnd

Straight away you may notice that TheKoreanSavage equips a unique barrel attachment, opting for the 15″ CMV Mil-Spec. You may be accustomed to seeing the 19.7″ Takedown but the added recoil control of the 15″ CMV Mil-Spec truly makes it feel like a no-recoil weapon.

The extremely low recoil is what makes the weapon feel similar to the STG, “I can’t even tell, they’re kind of like the same thing.” This is great news for Warzone players who prefer Cold War weapons over Vanguard weapons, as the Krig 6 can clearly compete with STG.

The Field Agent Grip further adds recoil control, which makes the weapon easier to handle. The Axial Arms 3x is the perfect sight for both Rebirth Island and Caldera. If you’re skeptical about this Krig loadout, you can check out TheKoreanSavage’s gameplay where the streamer drops a whopping 32 kills in a single Rebirth Island match.

JGOD explains why Warzone’s Operation Monarch event “flopped”

Call of Duty expert JGOD has revealed why Warzone Pacific Season 3’s King Kong vs Godzilla event has been a “flop.”

JGOD and Warzone Godzilla

Warzone’s Operation Monarch brought King Kong and Godzilla to Caldera, and Call of Duty expert JGOD has explained why fans aren’t sold on the event.

The arrival of King Kong and Godzilla in Caldera shook things up in Warzone Pacific Season 3, with players gaining access to brand-new content like the S.C.R.E.A.M. Device killstreak and Operation Monarch LTM.

However, the event has received criticism from the Warzone community, with popular streamers like Dr Disrespect and NICKMERCS roasting it on social media. Now, Warzone expert JGOD has revealed why Operation Monarch could potentially hurt the game.

Warzone Operation Monarch promo

JGOD discussed Warzone’s Operation Monarch and why he believes the event “flopped,” criticizing the fact that the King Kong and Godzilla don’t interact with each other on Caldera.

The Warzone expert stated: “They don’t interact in any way, and a lot of times that they’re not even close enough where you could use one’s ability on the other.” He then suggested a few ways this problem could have been solved.

JGOD said: “I feel like there should have been choreographed fighting elements where maybe they come together, hit each other, but they don’t have a victor, and then maybe after you get a win, there would be a series of four different cutscenes.”

If players won matches, they could see Godzilla smacking King Kong and vice versa, a draw, or even MechaGodzilla showing up. This would incentivize fans to play well so that they could see the different cutscenes.

Kong attacking helicopters

JGOD also compared Operation Monarch to Fortnite’s live events, arguing that Raven Software should have done something similar by making sure that players don’t have to battle each other.

He stated: “Basically, there’s no interaction between players in terms of being able to shoot each other, and you just participate in the event. I think a lot of people would have preferred just to have that event.”

The Call of Duty expert claimed that this would be a great way to get more people to join Warzone, as casual players wouldn’t have to worry about being shot down by enemies during the event.

JGOD pointed out the benefit of being able to level up weapons fast in Operation Monarch but claimed that the event was a “flop” because most of the Warzone community feels that the marketing didn’t match the end result.

As with Warzone’s other live events, Operation Monarch will remain available in Warzone Pacific Season 3 for a limited time.
