NICKMERCS reveals the powerful Warzone weapon that could rival the FFAR
Warzone streamer Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff has explained why the Groza is “OP” when used the right way in Season 2 and could rival the FFAR in the future.
Warzone Season 2’s meta has been very distinct with the AUG and the FFAR 1 leading the pack. With the recent nerfs to the FFAR’s attachments, players are trying out new weapons to see if a new meta could exist. Warzone streamer NICKMERCS experimented with the Groza, and while he admits that it’s not an FFAR killer, he believes it’s still viable in the Season 2 meta.
“It’s really not a bad gun,” NICKMERCS explained. “It’s pretty damn OP if you use it the right way.”
Although the Groza is an Assault Rifle, its fast fire rate makes it especially suited for close-range combat. Nick described how even though the Groza is good, it isn’t as powerful as the FFAR.

“In my opinion, it’s better than the MAC-10, it definitely replaces every other SMG,” said Nick. “It shoots really fast, it kills really fast, it has high damage at close range. It’s got a big magazine. It’s not better than the FFAR, but it’s almost there.”
Nick also explained how the FFAR would need to be “hit hard” with a nerf for the Groza to become the meta, but you can still “get away with using the Groza a little bit.”
NICKMERCS Warzone Season 2 Groza loadout
If you’d like to try out the Groza for yourself, here are the attachments NICKMERCS runs with this powerful Assault Rifle.
- Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
- Barrel: 16.5″ CMV Mil-Spec
- Stock: KGB Pad
- Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
- Ammunition: VDV 50 Rnd Fast Mag
These attachments combined vastly improve the Groza’s speed, with a buff to range, to make the Groza compete with popular close-range choices such as the MAC-10 or Gallo SA12.
The Groza is by no means a popular choice in Season 2, but with NICKMERCS giving the weapon his blessing, you could be seeing it much more often in your Warzone matches.
As he explained, the Groza “is not better than the FFAR” but it’s “almost there,” so it could very well become the meta if the FFAR receives a significant nerf going into Warzone Season 3.
