Reports are coming in from analyst Michael Pachter stating that Activision forced Nintendo to create the Wii U Pro Controller to secure a Call of Duty game on the new platform.

He said, “Activision never said anything to me, but I know that [for] big games like Call Of Duty they said, ‘No, we’re not putting it on there if you don’t give us a conventional controller’. So they gave in.”

Pacther went on to say that he believes the Wii U concept will likely fail this year.

With Activision and Treyarch hard at work on Call of Duty: Black Ops II, maybe this game is heading to the Wii U as a launch title. Treyarch isn’t saying much when asked about the Nintendo platform for Black Ops II. Treyarch is known for developing Wii games, as they developed Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 for the Wii.
