Overwatch 2 players have been encountering extremely frustrating bugs at launch, and this has resulted in the developers temporarily removing heroes from the game.

There have been quite a few glitches popping up in Overwatch 2 shortly after its launch, and players have been also been forced to deal with other issues such as long server queues keeping them out of the game.

Some of the in-game heroes are also being affected by strange bugs, including one that made Bastion’s Ultimate overpowered and gave players an unfair advantage. Now, the developers have responded to this issue.

On October 10, the developers confirmed that the characters Bastion and Torbjörn have both been removed from competitive play while the team works on fixing “a few bugs in their ability kits.”

While Bastion will be temporarily unavailable in all modes, Torbjörn will remain playable in Quick Play. The devs didn’t say when these heroes will return, but they stated that it will be a “quick trip to the workshop.”

Bastion’s Artillery Strike Ultimate is meant to fire up to three powerful artillery shells for a short while. However, a game-breaking glitch was allowing Overwatch 2 players to fire as many artillery shells as they want.

Torbjörn players reported being able to increase the duration of his Overload ability and this granted them more armor. These issues can cause matches to become unbalanced, so it makes sense for the devs to temporarily remove the two heroes.

At the time of writing, the developers haven’t removed any more heroes from the game, and the two characters will hopefully function properly upon their return. It’s reassuring to know Blizzard are working on fixing these issues.
