Overwatch 2 October 25 early patch notes: Halloween event, Bastion return, more
The Overwatch 2 October 25 patch is expected to be a big one, kicking off a Halloween-themed event, bringing Bastion back into the fold, and much more. Here are the early patch notes for the Overwatch 2 October 25 update.
Overwatch 2 got off to a slightly bumpy start due to server issues and a handful of bugs and glitches, but this didn’t stop millions of players from making the jump to the sequel in its first month.
Since the early struggles, Blizzard have been hard at work pushing out patches to solve any problems and add new content, and the October 25 update is expected to be the biggest to date.
Check out the Overwatch 2 October 25 early patch notes below, including a new Halloween event and a Genji nerf that fans have been calling for.

Overwatch 2 Halloween Terror event
The devs have confirmed that Overwatch 2 Halloween Terror is set to arrive in the October 25 update. President of Blizzard Entertainment, Mike Ybarra, confirmed that the event is a sequel to Junkenstein’s Revenge, and will come with a brand-new game mode.
Little else is known about the event just yet, but we expect fans to be treated to a host of creepy skins to unlock for their favorite heroes, as well as other cosmetics.
Overwatch 2 October 25 update: Bastion and Torbjorn return
The Overwatch 2 October 25 is also set to bring missing DPS heroes Bastion and Torbjorn back into the game for the first time in 15 days. Both were removed so the devs could “iron out a few bugs in their ability kits,” and have been missing from matches ever since.
Junkertown is also being added back into the rotation with the October 25 update, after a bizarre FPS glitch that was being exploited in ranked matches caused the map to be disabled.
Overwatch 2 October 25 update: Hero nerfs
As is the case with most Overwatch updates, the October 25 patch will introduce a number of balancing changes to make matches more equal. According to leaks shared by GGRecon, Genji and Sombra will finally be getting nerfed.
Genji has been a controversial figure in Overwatch 2 since launch, with many players feeling that his Shuriken damage and large ammo capacity, paired with his high agility, make him too strong compared to other DPS heroes.
The same can be said for Sombra, thanks to her hacking ability that grants a huge damage multiplier. Once te the update goes live, both of these heroes will hopefully be less dominant but still viable options.
