Overwatch 2 Game Director Aaron Keller gave his latest Director Take on Season 7 and mentioned that Blizzard is focusing on several changes for the Battle Pass. Here’s what the Overwatch 2 community had to say about it.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 introduced a lot of content that divided players’ opinions. While most fans were excited about the Diablo crossover event, others weren’t so happy with the price of the Battle Pass which contained most of the cosmetics.

Blizzard Game Director Aaron Keller said that “they heard players’ opinions,” and that the devs were focusing on reworking both the competitive system and the Battle Pass. “We’ve heard from players that they want to see us take a look at our competitive system as well as our Battle Pass. These are two of the top priorities for the Overwatch team,” noted Keller.

This Battle Pass rework was announced after most players complained that the Moira/Lilith skin was only available for those who purchased the most expensive bundle. According to Keller, Blizzard will aim to provide different methods for players to get the featured cosmetics in future seasons.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 Battle Pass
The Overwatch 2 Season 7 Battle Pass came along with a Hanzo Mythic skin.

“We do sell an Ultimate Battle Pass bundle every season with legendary skins in it and will continue to do so. However, the lesson that we’re taking away from this moment is to make sure that we provide more ways to acquire some of our most popular skins,” said Keller in his latest Director’s Take.

Players didn’t miss the chance to ask for several changes to the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass system. In a post made by the Overwatch Cavalry X’s account, users in the replies suggested taking inspiration from Valorant, Halo, Fortnite, and Call of Duty.

Most fans agreed that items like Souvenirs aren’t useful and that they’d like more titles throughout the Battle Pass. Players also requested for Coins and Shop Credits to be available in the rewards instead of game currency, along with the idea of lowering overall prices.

One of the most popular requests asked for Blizzard to make Heroes available at earlier tiers of any bundle, since “they should not be locked behind cosmetic progression.”

That’s everything on any future changes to the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass. Meanwhile, you can check what happened after Overwatch 2 Anniversary Event bug, and how many players are currently playing Overwatch 2.
