Overwatch 2 players slam Sombra rework update
BlizzardSombra has been the subject of many angry debates in the Overwatch 2 community, even after the devs announced a complete rework of her skills. Check out everything you need to know about the upcoming Sombra update in Overwatch 2.
While Overwatch 2 players anxiously wait for Season 6, Blizzard’s dev team has been talking about some of the much-needed reworks for their classic characters. Even though Sombra’s update may seem far away, the devs confirmed that they’ve been keeping a close eye on the infamous stealth hacker.
Sombra has always been a tough character to master, but experienced Overwatch 2 players have been able to make the most of her ability to disable enemy players’ skills. While being an interesting DPS to count on in a team, Sombra has one of the lowest rates of survival in modes such as solo-queue Ranked Play. Check out what the developers had to say about Sombra’s upcoming rework in Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2: Sombra rework explained
While talking about Overwatch 2‘s latest updates, Lead Hero Designer Alec Dawson teased that Sombra’s rework would make her “a little bit more lethal,” so her revamp will focus more on her damage instead of her stealth abilities. The developer also stated that this shift could mean some drawbacks to her “escapability.”
Players have received this info with mixed feelings. Even though one of the most common complaints about Sombra has been about her inability to get enough kills as a DPS, fans aren’t sure why it should come at the cost of something else.
“I basically started playing Overwatch because of Sombra’s backstory and her abilities. I have had so much fun going invisible and tricking people with her translocator since day one to this current rework. For them to have the audacity to rework one of her abilities or more and make her a basic generic shooter character is upsetting,” stated Reddit user Cybernetic Cataclysm.
Meanwhile, Overwatch 2 Executive Producer Jared Neuss admitted that both Roadhog and Sombra reworks aren’t coming for this next season, but sometime in Season 7. “A bunch of cool stuff is happening,” confirmed Neuss without stating any clear dates.
