Overwatch 2 Season 12 arrives on August 20, which means a fresh Battle Pass full of skins and cosmetics to grind through. The new update marks the debut of the long-awaited Hero Juno and a possible crossover with World of Warcraft.

But, above all else, the community always wants to know what this season’s theme will be and which Hero will receive a Mythic skin. So, here’s everything we know about the Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass so far.

Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass theme

The theme of Season 12 is ‘New Frontiers,’ as confirmed by the official season 12 trailer released on August 14, 2024.

While the name may imply a space theme, this season will actually see the long-awaited Egyptian theme that Blizzard mentioned they wanted to work on in 2023. The skins in the Battle Pass are all themed around Anubis and Egyptian mythology, including the Mythic skin.

Mythic skin & other cosmetics in Season 12

Reaper is getting the Mythic skin in Season 12, ‘Anubis Reaper,’ and Ana will be getting a Mythic weapon skin. Mythic weapon skins were introduced for the first time in Season 11 with Reinhardt’s Bound Demon Hammer, and you can use the weapon skin with any skin.

Reaper’s skin is inspired by the Egyptian God of Death Anubis, and you’ll be able to customize it to turn him into the Sun God Ra. Similarly, Ana’s new weapon skin will transform on the battlefield, granting new effects and sounds as you play in matches.

To get these skins, you’ll need to earn Mythic Prisms in the Season 12 Battle Pass and then trade them for the skin of your choosing. This can only be done through buying the Battle Pass, which also has a bunch of new skins for other Heroes. You can check out all of them in the trailer below:

  • Ana
  • Doomfist
  • Illari
  • Ashe
  • Sigma

Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass price

The Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass will cost 1,000 OW Coins ($9.99/£8.39) to purchase. Doing this entitles you to all 80 items included on the BP, as long as you manage to earn enough XP before Season 13 arrives.

There will also be a Premium version that costs 2,200 OW Coins ($20/£16.79), which comes with 20 free Tier Skips and a 20% XP boost that lasts for the remainder of the season.

If you don’t want to purchase either version, there is also a free track. Only a handful of the rewards will be available if you don’t pay, but buying the standard or Premium version at any point during Season 12 will automatically unlock every reward up to your current level.

This means you can try out the new season and see how far you get before committing, as you may decide you don’t want to miss out on the skins and other cosmetics.

The release of Overwatch 2 Season 12 is expected to bring a major boost to the game’s player count, so make sure you’re prepared with the best PC settings and counters for each Tank Hero.
