Overwatch 2 Season 13 is set to be the next major update to hit Blizzard’s popular hero shooter, so here’s the release date and everything we know about it so far.

Season 12 was one of the biggest patches to date, introducing the new Support character Juno and an Egyptian-themed Battle Pass. It also brought plenty of buffs and nerfs and added Clash mode into the mix.

But the next update is never too far away and fans are already looking ahead to what the devs might have in store.

Overwatch 2 Season 13 release date

Overwatch 2 Season 13 is due to arrive on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, according to the in-game Battle Pass timer. This countdown marks the end of Season 12 and in the past, new seasons have gone live instantly as soon as the previous one ended, so it’s likely that Blizzard will stick to the same schedule again.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that the update will be delayed or moved forward depending on how development progresses, so we’ll be sure to update this section with the latest details.

Is there a new Hero in Season 13?

No, there will not be a new Hero added in Overwatch 2 Season 13. The devs have committed to releasing characters once every two seasons, and since Juno made their debut in the previous update, there won’t be a new face joining the roster this time around.

Instead, you can look forward to a fresh map being added to the rotation, as new characters and maps tend to come in alternating seasons. That being said, it hasn’t been confirmed what the map will be and Blizzard have been known to skip new releases if they have something bigger planned, so we’ll have to wait for an announcement.

What to expect in Overwatch 2 Season 13

  • New Battle Pass
  • New theme
  • New map
  • Hero buffs and nerfs
  • Map changes
  • Character skins
  • Events
  • Crossovers

Although Season 13 hasn’t been officially revealed, there’s certain content that arrives in every new season without fail. For example, we’ll definitely be treated to a new Battle Pass full of skins, as well as some Hero changes to keep the meta fresh.

Overwatch 2 has been ramping up the crossovers in recent updates too, with Transformers and World of Warcraft arriving in Seasons 11 and 12 respectively. Fans will be hoping that another major collaboration will come in Season 13 too, perhaps with another one of Blizzard’s biggest titles.

While you wait for Season 13 to arrive, make sure you finish Season 12 strong with the best counters for each Tank Hero and these free Twitch Drops.
