Overwatch 2 Season 8 provides a whopping 39 characters to choose from, all split into three categories, DPS, Support, and Tank. These Heroes all have unique abilities and playstyles, making some more favorable than others.

Soldier: 76 is one of the original Overwatch characters, and despite big changes in OW2, the DPS character continues to thrive thanks to his dead-eye accuracy. This character’s sheer damage output has landed them in the top five with a 4.16% pick rate.

3. Genji – 4.27%

Coming in at number 4, DPS Hero Genji has a 4.27% pick rate for Overwatch 2 Season 8. Genji is an extremely strong DPS Hero in Overwatch 2, getting up in players’ faces and dealing high melee damage as well as great poke damage with the Shurikens.

4. Kiriko – 4.44%

Available in the Season 1 Battle Pass, Kirko is a support character who has jumped to the fourth spot in the Overwatch 2 pick rates for Season 8 with 4.44%. This character’s ability to do big damage while also healing makes her a valuable asset for any team.

2. Mercy – 6.60%

Mercy is arguably the most effective healer in Overwatch 2, landing her at the number 2 spot with a healthy pick rate of 6.60%. While some might be hesitant to play Mercy, as she doesn’t provide much in terms of versatility, a great Mercy player can easily make your team a formidable winning force with constant heals.

At the top spot for Overwatch 2 Season 8 pick rate is Ana, with a whopping 8.12%. Ana is one of the best Support characters in the game thanks to her versatility, as a great Ana player will not only be able to heal her team but also help with damage output.

While Ana is difficult to master, once you do she’s very rewarding and will immediately improve your team’s performance, especially with her Ultimate which basically makes a player on your team invincible for a short time period.
