Palworld roadmap: PvP, Raid bosses, crossplay & more coming in early access

Following the breakout success of Palworld, the devs have shared their future plans for the early access period. Here’s the full Palworld early access roadmap, including fan-requested features such as crossplay, PvP, and much more.

Palworld has been the surprise success story of 2024 so far, as the game that was initially written off as Pokemon clone has gone on to attract a huge fanbase. Millions of players have hopped in to begin building their dream base and catching rare Pals around the massive map.

Despite the early accolades, Palworld is still in early access on Xbox and PC, meaning the game will be updated over time. Now, the devs shared their plans and revealed exactly what players have to look forward to in the future.

Palworld crossplay coming in future update

The Palworld devs have confirmed that crossplay will be added to the game sometime during early access. At launch, players on both PC and Xbox can only try co-op with friends on the same platform, making it one of the most requested features.

Luckily, Pocket Pair have revealed that “Steam-Xbox crossplay” is one of the many changes on their radar during early access. However, they haven’t yet offered a timeline of when crossplay support will arrive.

Palworld PvP to be released during early access

Another major addition confirmed by the roadmap is Palworld PvP. At the time of writing, fans who join a lobby with their friends can only work together to catch Pals, gather resources, and complete tasks, but the option to go head-to-head is coming in the future.

The roadmap shared by the devs mentions traditional PvP and a Pal Arena, hinting that players will be able to fight between themselves using guns and melee weapons, as well as call on their strongest Pals to battle it out for them.

Addressing critical issues

• Currently, numerous bugs have been identified, and we are prioritizing fixing those.
• Sometimes, the world date may experience rollbacks.
• The loading screen may persist when trying to load into worlds. …and so on.

Improvements to implement ASAP

• Key configuration improvements.
• Improvements to base Pal AI and pathing.

Planned future updates

• PvP
• Raid Bosses (End-Game Content)
• Pal Arena (PvP for Pals)
• Steam-Xbox Crossplay
• Various Xbox Feature Improvements
• Server Transfers and Migrations
• Improvements to the Building System
• New islands, Pals, Bosses, and Technologies.

It’s worth keeping in mind that although a host of features have now been revealed for Palworld, there is still no word on when they will be rolled out. We’ll be sure to update this page as soon as we know more.
