Players reporting Modern Warfare’s aim assist is completely broken

One of the Call of Duty series’ most under-appreciated features is its aim assist. But some Modern Warfare players are reporting that the feature is completely broken in the game right now, making it virtually unplayable.

Despite being nearly two years old, the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot is still extremely popular among gamers. So much so, features from the game are being worked into Call of Duty: Vanguard, and it continues to influence Warzone.

That’s not to stay it’s without its problems. Just a couple of weeks after Black Ops Cold War players reported aim assist issues, Modern Warfare fans are saying that it is totally broken for them at the moment too.

Reddit user MetalingusMike said that just one month after he was seeing a similar issue, the aim assist in Modern Warfare was once again malfunctioning for him. He said that he feels as though he has the aim assist of Marksman Rifles no matter which loadout he is using.

“It feels like I have that aim assist strength but for every weapon, but that’s way too strong and I can’t move my camera away or to enemies, it’s resisting my input,” he reported in his post. “My aim and movement also feel floaty, like imprecise and delayed.”

This frustrating issue was making the game extremely difficult to play, but he felt that this time he had figured out what caused the break before Infinity Ward could fix it.

“I was playing bot matches for a few hours, messing with the SP-R 208 trying to get good at quickscopes. I used it with and without its scope, messing around with the ADS Sensitivity Multiplier every few minutes trying to find a sweet spot.”

“I was using Dead Silence constantly against the bots too,” he continued. “Maybe the combination of using Dead Silence which increases the FOV to 90 on console, playing bots for hours, and tuning sensitivity bugged the game out?”

He added that after two hours of playing around with settings, his aim assist and movement started to feel “clunky” as it had done before. After hopping into a public match, the controls were still broken and it made competing in multiplayer a real struggle.
