How to get
Special Research:
- Mew
- Celebi
- Jirachi
- Shaymin (Land)
- Shaymin (Sky)
- Victini
- Keldeo
- Meloetta
- Hoopa (Confined)
- Diancie
- Zarude
These Mythicals were first made available through Special Research and there was a time limit to claim the quest. But, once trainers grabbed the Research, they were free to complete it whenever they wanted.
Masterwork Research
- Mew
- Celebi
- Jirachi
- Shaymin
Masterwork Research quests are more grueling versions of Special Research as they involve tasks that could take months to complete and reward a guaranteed shiny Mythical. Again, you need to start the quest within a certain time frame.
5-Star Raids
- All Deoxys forms
- Darkrai
- Genesect
These Mythicals are featured in 5-Star Raids that change monthly. While none are available in the current rotation, we’ll be sure to update this article when any of them headline Raid battles.
Elite Raids
- All Deoxys forms
- Hoopa (Unbound)
Elite Raids are exclusive events that take place in selective Gyms. They are conducted in-person only so Remote Raid Passes won’t work.
Mystery Box
- Meltan
The Mystery Box is an in-game item that can be activated by connecting Pokemon Go with Home. This will unlock Meltan spawns around your location for 60 minutes and has a cooldown of 48 hours, which is often reduced during special events.
Evolution
- Melmetal
Evolve Meltan to Melmetal by feeding it 400 Candy. Make sure you use a Pinap Berry each time you catch Meltan to earn double Candy and evolve it quickly.
Also, you should know that Meltan and Melmetal are the only Mythicals that can be traded and kept in Gyms.
Form Change
- Hoopa (Unbound)
- Shaymin (Sky)
Click on ‘Change form’ in the Pokedex profile of Hoopa (Confined) along with 50 Candy and 10,000 Stardust to turn it into Hoopa (Unbound). Note that you can reverse the change with 10 Candy and 2000 Stardust.
On the other hand, you will need 25 Candy and 10,000 Stardust to change Shaymin (Land) to Shaymin (Sky) and vice versa.
Available Mythicals (July 2024)
Marshadow will be up for grabs for Go Fest 2024 ticket holders from July 14, 2024, until July 15, 2024. Don’t miss the chance to grab this powerful new Mythical.
Missing Mythicals
- Phione (Gen 4)
- Manaphy (Gen 4)
- Arceus (Gen 4)
- Volcanion (Gen 6)
- Magearna (Gen 7)
- Zeraora (Gen 7)
- Pecharunt (Gen 9)
There is no official news on when any of these missing Mythicals will debut in Pokemon Go, but rest assured we will let you know if their debuts are announced.
