All Baxcalibur weaknesses explained in Pokemon
Baxcalibur is weak to Dragon, Fairy, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type attacks in Pokemon.
While it has a host of weaknesses, its high HP of 115 and decent bulk make up for it. Also, going for a favorable Tera Type can prevent it from fainting to a super-effective move.
One of the major issues with bringing in Baxcalibur is taking damage from Stealth Rock on the battlefield. But, you can add a teammate with the move Defog to remove Rocks or equip your Baxcalibur with the Held Item Heavy-Duty Boots to avoid taking any damage.
One more strategy to overcome Stealth Rock damage is to go with its Hidden Ability, Ice Body, which helps it recover HP under Snow.
All Baxcalibur resistances explained in Pokemon
Baxcalibur resists Electric, Grass, and Water-type attacks in Pokemon.
As this Pokemon lacks somewhat in Speed, with a stat of 87, it often uses Swords Dance with Scales Shot, or Dragon Dance to get faster and sweep with its incredibly high 145 Attack stat.
Also, a Baxcalibur with the ability Thermal Exchange is immune to getting Burnt and gets a 50% boost to its Attack when hit by a Fire-type move.
This helps it in battles where the opponent is expected to use Will-O-Wisp, like Dragapult or Skeledirge, or is sure to use a Fire-type move. Switching in Baxcalibur in such situations has led to countless wins for this Pseudo Legendary.
Baxcalibur strengths explained in Pokemon
Baxcalibur does super-effective damage to Dragon, Flying, Grass, and Ground-type Pokemon.
Both Dragon and Ice types are excellent offensively, and Baxcalibur can eliminate these types without much effort. Even an Earthquake will hit hard, thanks to its high Attack stat, taking care of Steel and Rock-types it is weak to.
You can take advantage of its Defense naturally boosted by 50% under Snow as well as the reduction in the opponent’s damage from Aurora Veil. Both Snow and Aurora Veil can be set up by Alolan Ninetales, allowing Baxcalibur to use Dragon Dance or Swords Dance to boost its Attack and Speed (with Dragon Dance).
Best Baxcalibur moves in Pokemon
The best Baxcalibur moves in Pokemon are Swords Dance, Scale Shot, Icicle Spear, and Earthquake.
- Swords Dance helps boost Baxcalibur’s Attack by two stages, and with its natural bulk, and support from Alolan Ninetales, it can pull off this move even when hit by super-effective attacks.
- Scale Shot was added to Baxcalibur’s moveset in the Indigo Disk DLC and proved to be a boon alongside the Held Item Loaded Dice, as it ensures at least four hits of the multistrike move, increasing its Speed but decreasing its Defense.
- Icicle Spear is an Ice-type multistrike move that also benefits from Loaded Dice, hitting four to five times on use.
- Earthquake gives Baxcalibur the coverage it needs against the many powerful Steel-type Pokemon in the meta. In many battles, you can add the Ground Tera Type once Aurora Veil wears off, to give STAB to Earthquake and OHKO opponents.
Other good moves for Baxcalibur are Glaive Rush, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, and Protect.
These moves don’t need Loaded Dice and are better with Choice Band or Expert Belt. Keep in mind that Glaive Rush leaves Baxcalibur vulnerable to double damage the next turn, but Protect can solve that issue. Also, Ice Shard gets Priority, making it useful to take out Pokemon with low HP.
