- Hydro Pump (Water)
- Withdraw (Water)
- Rain Dance (Water)
- Flash Cannon (Steel)
- Iron Defense (Steel)
- Aura Sphere (Fighting)
- Shell Smash (Normal)
Best counters for Blastoise Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
The best counters for defeating Blastoise Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are Iron Hands, Corviknight, Poliwrath, and Annihilape.
Blastoise is pretty tanky, boasting excellent defenses across the board. It’s best to choose counters that deal heavy Fighting-type damage, with a preference towards Physical Attackers rather than Special.
Best Iron Hands strategy for Blastoise Tera Raid in Pokemon S&V
With a jaw-dropping Attack stat of 140, the Fighting/Electric-type Paradox Pokemon Iron Hands is one of the strongest wall breakers in the meta, thanks to its range of powerful moves.
Fake Out is an amazing first move as it makes the opponent flinch, giving your teammates a free turn to set up their stats.
Swords Dance can help boost Iron Hands’ deadly offensive potential by two stages, and Drain Punch not only deals impressive damage but also helps it recover health throughout the battle.
With an Adamant nature and the item Booster Energy, Iron Hands can turn into a wrecking ball. This Pokemon also has an astronomically high HP stat of 154, making it an ideal Raid counter.
Best Corviknight strategy for Blastoise Tera Raid in Pokemon S&V
Corviknight has always been a staple for most Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids due to its formidable Bulk Up and Body Press combo.
Bulk Up boosts Corviknight’s Attack and Defense stats while Body Press uses the Defense stat for damage calculation. With this combo, Corviknight can hit Blastoise super-effectively with STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus), after you add the Fighting Tera Type.
That’s not all as Corviknight can use Roost to recover lost HP and remain healthy, making it an asset to use against Blastoise in its Tera Raid battle.
Best Poliwrath strategy for Blastoise Tera Raid in Pokemon S&V
Poliwrath excels in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Blastoise Tera Raids as its Water/Fighting type helps it resist the Raid Boss’ strongest moves. Additionally, its Water Absorb Ability makes it immune to Water-type moves and also heals 1/4th of its HP when hit by them.
With Belly Drum, Poliwrath can maximize its Attack and use Drain Punch to hit hard and stay healthy throughout the battle. Leftovers is an excellent item that recovers 1/16th of its max HP at the end of every turn, syncing well with Water Absorb and Drain Punch.
You can also use Amnesia to reduce Blastoise’s Special Defense by two stages, making it a boon for teammates. All in all, Poliwrath is an excellent addition to make quick work of the Raid Boss.
Best Annihilape strategy for Blastoise Tera Raid in Pokemon S&V
Annihilape is an extremely versatile Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet, working like a Swiss Army Knife for Blastoise Tera Raids.
Taunt can prevent Blastoise from using Status moves like Rain Dance and Shell Smash, and Screech lowers the Raid Boss’ Defense drastically by two stages, in case it has already used Withdraw.
Annihilape can then use Bulk Up to raise its Attack as well as Defense stats by one stage, turning it into a major threat. With boosted Attack, it can go with powerful moves like Close Combat to deal massive damage, and also Drain Punch to help it recover HP.
