Best counters for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid
The best counters for the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid are Ogerpon Hearthflame Mask, Corviknight, Baxcalibur, Skeledirge, and Iron Moth.
Hisuian Decidueye has a good Attack stat of 112 and it is decently bulky, with its Defense stat being lower than its Special Defense. So it is a good idea to bring strong Physical Attackers to the Raid.
It will get STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) in its Grass and Fighting-type moves so your counters should be able to resist these attacks. We recommend Flying Tera Type if any of your top counters are weak to Grass or Fighting-type moves.
Here are some of the best strategies you can build with your counters for beating the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid:
Best Ogerpon Hearthflame Mask strategy for Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid
Ogerpon is the newest Legendary Pokemon that players can obtain from the Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC and it is also one of the most powerful species in the game.
Among the four different Masks that Ogerpon can put on, we recommend choosing the Hearthflame Mask thanks to the move Ivy Cudgel and its Embody Aspect Ability.
Once you use the Hearthflame Mask, Ogerpoin will turn into Fire Tera Type and gain a 50% boost to its already impressive Attack stat of 120. Combine that with its high base Speed stat of 110 and the powerful 100 base power move Ivy Cudgel, you won’t need any other moves for Ogerpon in the Raid.
Best Corviknight strategy for Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid
Corviknight is one of the bulkiest species in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the deadly combo of Body Press and Iron Defense. It can keep on boosting its Defense stat with Iron Defense and then deal incredible damage with Body Press.
Corviknight also resists all possible moves of Hisuian Decidueye, making it a great switch-in to take even boosted hits during the Raid battle.
You can also consider adding Roost to its movepool to ensure HP recovery during the battle as well as Brave Bird to deal super-effective damage.
Best Baxcalibur strategy for Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid
Baxcalibur is arguably the most powerful Pseudo Legendary Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet and it boasts a jaw-dropping Attack stat of 145.
This species is one of the best users of the in-game Item Loaded Dice as it guarantees that Baxcalibur will hit its multi-strike moves at least four times and a maximum of five times.
With Icicle Spear in the mix, it can deal at least 100 or 125 base damage without any drawbacks. You can also go with the powerful Icicle Crash and Ice Shard if you are running the item Choice Band to boost its Attack by 50%.
Players should note that Baxcalibur is a Dragon/Ice-type Pokemon so it is weak to any Fighting-type moves that Hisuian Decidueye can use. We recommend using Tera Dragon, Poison or Flying for the challenge.
Best Skeledirge strategy for Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid
The Fire-type starter Pokemon Skeledirge is a force to be reckoned with when it has the Unaware Ability. So even if Hisuian Decidueye uses Swords Dance or Bulk Up, Skeledirge won’t be affected by the boosts.
With its signature move Torch Song, it can boost its Special Attack stat, while also being able to tank hits from the Raid Boss due to its excellent bulk. Add Sing and you can make Hisuian Decidueye fall asleep, making it easier to beat.
But that’s not all as this species can also use Will-O-Wisp to put a Burn status on the Raid Boss, reducing its HP on every turn. When Burned, Hisuian Decidueye will take additional damage from Hex, making it easier to be knocked out.
Best Iron Moth strategy for Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid
The Paradox form of Volcarona, Iron Moth, can resist all STAB (Fighting and Grass) moves from Hisuian Decidueye and has high Special Attack along with moves like Overheat, Fiery Dance, Sludge Wave, or Acid Spray. Plus, it has Morning Sun as a support recovery option.
Prioritize EVs in Special Attack and Defense over HP, and equip Iron Moth with a Shell Bell as a held item to grant it better recovery per turn. If you happen to have an Iron Moth with Modest nature, the better for you since it empowers Sp. Atk
Start with Fiery Dance to passively raise your Special Attack, then shred away Hisuian Decidueye’s Special Defense with Acid Spray. Use Morning Sun when necessary to recover HP. Keep going with Sludge Wave or Overheat to seal the deal, and you’ll have that Hisuian Decidueye in your collection in no time.
Other good Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid counters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet include Ceruledge, Armarouge, Chi-Yu, Munkidori, and Clodsire.
