Hisuian Samurott has the Water Tera Type in its Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 7-Star Tera Raid. This makes it weak only to Grass and Electric-type moves.
Coming to its moveset, Hisuian Samurott has Ceaseless Edge (Dark), Razor Shell (Water), Sacred Sword (Fighting), and X-Scissor (Bug). Some Raids may also have Swords Dance (Normal), Bulldoze (Ground), and Focus Energy (Normal).

Best counters for Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
The best counters to beat Hisuian Samurott Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are Miraidon, Bellibolt, Iron Hands, Appletun, and Rotom Wash.
Hisuian Samurott is a mixed attacker, with more or less the same Attack and Special Attack stats. It possesses good bulk as well, with the Special Defense stat being lower. So while you should prioritize Special Attackers in your counters, you can also go ahead with powerful Physical Attackers.
Make sure that you’re careful about Hisuian Samurott’s signature move, Ceaseless Edge, as the 65 base power move not only gets a 50% damage boost but also sets up Spikes on your side of the battle. So, any non-Flying Pokemon coming to the battlefield after the first counter will take chip damage from Spikes.
Best Miraidon strategy for Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid
The Legendary Miraidon is one of the strongest species in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and is, without doubt, the best counter for Hisuian Samurott Tera Raids.
Thanks to its Ability Hadron Engine, Electric Terrain will be activated on the battlefield immediately upon Miaridon’s entry, boosting the damage of Electric-type moves by 50% while also boosting Miraidon Special Attack by 1.333x.
Miraidon excels defensively as well since its type combination of Electric/Dragon helps it resist the Water-type slicing moves of Hisuian Samurott that are boosted by Sharpness.
Regarding Miraidon’s moveset, this Legendary has a lot of tools in its arsenal. Taunt prevents Hisuian Samurott from setting up with Swords Dance or Focus Energy, and Metal Sound lowers the Raid Boss’ Special Defense stat by two stages, effectively buffing Miraidon’s offensive powers.
To finish off in style, Miradon can spam the powerful Electro Drift, dealing heavy super-effective damage that takes off chunks of Hisuian Samurott’s HP.
Best Bellibolt strategy for Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid
Bellibolt is an excellent Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid counter in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and it’s all due to its amazing Electromorphosis Ability, which boosts the power of Bellibolt’s Electric-type moves when hit by an attack.
When it comes to choosing a reliable Electric-type move to salvage its Ability, there’s none better than Parabolic Charge. Not only does it get boosted in power, but it also recovers half of the damage dealt as HP, keeping Bellibolt healthy throughout the battle.
As you spam Parabolic Charge, you can add to the power boosts even further with Metronome, making Bellibilt deadlier with each turn.
Best Iron Hands strategy for Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid
With a whopping 140 Attack stat that can be boosted by 30% with the item Booster Energy, Iron Hands is a heavy-hitter that can do incredible damage to Hisuian Samurott during its Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Go with Adamant Nature to maximize Iron Hands’ Attack and Wild Charge to break the Raid Boss’ defenses. Add Drain Punch for recovery, and Iron Hands can turn into an unstoppable force. While this Pokemon hits hard, its exceptional bulk also lets it tank hits.
Alternatively, you can also try the Belly Drum and Drain Punch set to do quick, jaw-dropping damage.
Best Appletun strategy for Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid
Right off the bat, Appletun’s Grass/Dragon type combination heavily resists Hisuian Samurott’s Razor Shell in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid. This helps it use setup moves that can cripple the Raid Boss.
Sunny Day brings harsh sunlight over the battlefield, reducing damage from Razor Shell. Follow it up with Growth to boost Appletun’s Attack and Special Attack by two stages.
That’s not all as Apple Acid deals super-effective damage while also lowering Hisuian Samurott’s Special Defense by two stages. Appletun is a game-changer that can benefit a solo or even a group Raid Battle.
Best Rotom Wash strategy for Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid
Rotom Wash is a staple in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet teams as it can halt species who are looking to sweep. So naturally, it fits among the Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid counters.
Will-O-Wisp is the go-to move to induce a Burn status on Hisuian Samurott, halving damage from its Physical Attacks. Charge Beam dishes out super-effective damage while also having a 70% chance to boost its Special Attack.
This strategy gives Rotom Wash an excellent offensive presence as its defensive profile gives it the freedom to shine. The Electric/Water type combination resists Razor Shell, and its Ability Levitate makes it immune to Bulldoze.
