Inteleon Tera Raid Battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

A new Tera Raid Battle event has gone live in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for players to catch the debuting Inteleon. Here are the event dates alongside tips and the best counters to use.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can continue to expand their Pokedex thanks to a new Tera Raid Battle event. After many starters made their way into the game, it’s Inteleon’s turn to take the spotlight. The Gen 8 Water-type Pokemon is headlining 7-Star Tera Raids in both games.

Tera Raid Battle events bring new challenges to trainers who finished the three main paths in the game and are waiting for DLC content. Here’s everything you need to know about the Inteleon event, including dates, tips, and some of the best counters to use.

Inteleon Tera Raid Battle dates in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The first set of Inteleon Tera Raid Battle dates in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet takes place from April 28 at 12 AM BST / 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET to April 30 at 11:59 PM BST / 3:59 PM PT / 6:59 PM ET. Players have a second chance at this Raid between May 5 and May 7.

The 7-Star Tera Raid Battle features Inteleon with the Mightiest Mark, meaning players can only catch one per save file.

This marks the debut of Inteleon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the same way it did with Decidueye in March and Typhlosion in April. That means that it might be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods later on.

Inteleon joins Cinderace in Scarlet and Violet, so players think it’s a matter of time until Rillaboom gets its own Tera Raid Battle event to complete the Gen 8 starter trio.

Inteleon Tera Type & moveset in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Inteleon has the Ice Tera Type in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 7-Star Tera Raid. That means it’s weak against Fighting, Fire, Rock, and Steel-type attacks. On the other hand, it only resists other Ice-type moves. This means players have plenty of options to keep in mind.

Regarding Inteleon’s moveset, it knows Blizzard (Ice), Snipe Shot (Water), Tearful Look (Normal), and Dark Pulse (Dark). Additionally, players should be ready to debuff Snowscape and beware of Mist, a move that protects Inteleon from Stat reductions.

As with previous Tera Raid Battles, Inteleon has a powerful Ability to watch out for. Trainers should watch out for Inteleon’s Hidden Ability, Sniper. It raises the power of critical-hit moves to 225% instead of the usual 150%.

With all that in mind, debuffing Inteleon’s stats and weather changes will be crucial to succeed in this Tera Raid Battle.

Best counters for Inteleon 7-Star Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Considering Inteleon’s Tera Type and moveset, players should be really careful with Fire and Rock-type Pokemon. They’ll deal super-effective damage, but they will also be vulnerable to Water-type attacks. Pure Steel types might have an advantage here since they can resist pretty much everything Inteleon can throw their way.

Here are some of the best counters for this Tera Raid Battle:

Best Annihilape strategy for Inteleon 7-Star Tera Raid

Annihilape is once again a great option for the Tera Raid Battle thanks to its dual Ghost and Fighting-type combination. You can use Screech in the first couple of turns to lower Inteleon’s Defense and then spam its signature move, Rage Fist.

Keep in mind that each time Annihilape is hit, the power of Rage Fist will increase. This won’t reset if you faint, so you should be done fairly quickly.

Best Kingambit strategy for Inteleon 7-Star Tera Raid

A great Steel-type Pokemon for this Tera Raid is Kingambit. Its secondary Dark typing will add even more resistances, so you won’t have to worry about any of Inteleon’s moves. With Swords Dance, players can take care of Inteleon’s Defense stats to land a powerful Steel-type attack.

Kingambit can also learn Leer, which isn’t as effective as the fan-favorite Screech but will lower Inteleon’s Defense stats nonetheless.

Best Iron Hands strategy for Inteleon 7-Star Tera Raid

Iron Hands is another powerful Pokemon that works like magic in most of these events. With its dual Electric and Fighting type combination and massive bulk, it can take Inteleon’s attacks fairly well. You can boost Iron Hands’ damage with Belly Drum and Electric Terrain to be done quickly. Either Close Combat or Drain Punch should take care of Inteleon in no time.

These three Pokemon can take many of Inteleon’s expected moves with ease if they’re leveled up. Other powerful counters include Chi-Yu, Perrserker, Tinkaton, Gholdengo, and Corviknight. Tauros and Crabominable have become fan-favorite options for this Raid, but they need a support team that boosts their damage and activates their Anger Point Ability.
