Fuecoco in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Plenty of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players aim to get Fuecoco and its evolutions, Crocalor and Skeledirge, on their team. Getting a starter Pokemon like Fuecoco is among the first things to do as they are usually rare to find. Here’s all you need to know about the Fuecoco evolution line in Scarlet and Violet.

Like every generation of Pokemon, Gen 9 brought brand-new Pokemon to the mix. For players looking to journey through the Paldea region, the Scarlet and Violet starter trio is where things begin. So what does the Fire-type starter have to offer?

Fuecoco is a bipedal, fire croc Pokemon that is shaped like a chili pepper. Fuecoco has gained much hype among Pokemon fans, who are eager to partner up with it and see what it evolves into.

So here’s all you need to know about obtaining your very own Fuecoco, and how to evolve it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Fuecoco is a well-designed Pokemon with a charming personality.

The Fire-type starter Fuecoco can be obtained by selecting it as a starter Pokemon or trading for it with friends.

Once a player gets Fuecoco as a starter or through trading, they can look forward to breeding it in the Pokemon Picnic. This can be of great help to those looking for a shiny Fuecoco or one with better stats.

How to evolve Fuecoco into Crocalor in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

As players advance in their Pokemon Scarlet & Violet playthrough with Fuecoco, it will go on to evolve into Crocalor at level 16.

Crocalor maintains the same bipedal stance as Fuecuoco but it sports a ‘hat’ of sorts with a fiery egg placed in between. This makes the hat look like a nest. So will the egg hatch into something? This Pokemon is full of surprises.

How to evolve Crocalor into Skeledirge in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Skeledirge is a bulky Pokemon with good resistances.

After all the training throughout the Paldea region, Crocalor will evolve into Skeledirge at level 36.

Unlike its pre-evolutions, Skeledirge is a Fire/Ghost-type. That’s not all, because Skeledirge is a quadruped and it lays on all fours just like a crocodile. And the egg? Well, it hatches into a fiery little bird that represents a soul, making Skeledirge a part Ghost-type. This birdie is an integral part of Skeledirge’s signature move: Torch Song.

Fuecoco, Crocalor, and Skeledirge Abilities in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The Fuecoco family will have one of two Abilities when players receive it from the professor or hatch from an egg: Blaze or Unaware.

Blaze powers up Fire-type moves when the user’s HP is low. On the other hand, Unaware lets the user’s attacks ignore the opponent’s stat changes.

Unaware is a very sought-after Ability in battles as it helps the user be unaffected by opponents that boost their ATK/DEF stats. This way, all stat boosts of the opponent are nullified. The ability alone makes Skeledirge one of the best starter Pokemon to have in the Paldea region.

That’s all you need to know to get yourself a Fuecoco that eventually evolves into the powerful Skeledirge. If you want to make your Pokemon Scarlet and Violet playthrough easier, then check out our guides:
