How to get Nihilego in Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go players can get Nihilego by defeating it in its 5-Star Raids and catching it afterward. It’s a great opportunity for players that weren’t around when the Ultra Beast debuted in Pokemon Go Fest 2022.
Some Legendary Pokemon and Ultra Beasts return to the game after a while with easier challenges or special events, but this is the only way to get Nihilego at the moment. The 5-Star Raid rotation seems to bring back Legendary Pokemon at least once a year for players to complete their Pokedex.
The Nihilego 5-Star Raids are taking place from June 15 to June 29 in Pokemon Go.
Can Nihilego be shiny in Pokemon Go?
Yes, Shiny Nihilego is available in Pokemon Go starting June 15. Shiny Nihilego is finally debuting in Pokemon Go with the Hidden Gems season.
That said, players expect the shiny rate for this Ultra Beast to be very low, so players might have to participate in many Raids to get one.
All Nihilego weaknesses & best counters in Pokemon Go
Nihilego is a dual Rock and Poison-type Pokemon, which means it’s weak against Ground, Steel, Water, and Psychic-type attacks. In fact, Nihilego has a double weakness (x4) against Ground-type moves, so you should probably focus your team on that category. Nihilego can resist Normal, Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, and Fairy-type attacks, so you should avoid that approach.
It’s recommended to face this 5-Star Raid with at least four high leveled trainers, but it can also be attainable with a group of 7 to 10 lower-level Pokemon Go players with the right counters. While you might see other users defeating this kind of Raid on their own, we recommend going at it with some backup.
Considering all factors, some of the best counters for this Raid include Groudon, Swampert, Excadrill, Rhyperior, Landorus, Mamoswine, Garchomp, Krookodile, Golurk, and Kyogre.
