Iron Leaves weaknesses explained in Pokemon
Iron Leaves’ weaknesses include Bug, Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Ice, and Poison-type attacks in Pokemon. Moreover, it’s 4x weak to Bug-type attacks.
With so many weaknesses, it often gets difficult to use this Pokemon. But I have found that Terastallization to the Fighting or Fire Tera Type throws opponents off-guard and turns Iron Leaves into an unpredictable threat. While both are good, I’ve experienced Fighting Tera Type to be more reliable.
Iron Leaves resistances explained in Pokemon
Iron Leaves’ resistances include Electric, Fighting, Grass, Ground, Psychic, and Water-type attacks in Pokemon.
Though its weaknesses are a concern, it goes without saying that Iron Leaves has an impressive set of resistances. With a 108 Special Defense stat and 90 HP, I’ve used Iron Leaves many times in my experience to cushion hits from powerhouses like Kyogre, Miraidon, Iron Valiant, Raging Bolt, Walking Wake, and Sandy Shocks.
Iron Leaves strengths explained in Pokemon
Iron Leaves deals super-effective damage to Fighting, Ground, Poison, Rock, and Water-type Pokemon using its STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) Grass and Psychic-type moves.
It has a whopping 130 Attack stat and is also fast, with a 104 Speed stat which can be further boosted by its ability Quark Drive. In Electric Terrain or with the Held Item Booster Energy, Iron Leaves can boost its Speed by 50% or any of its other stats by 30%. I’ve always invested in Speed, with the boost helping it edge out fast opponents and OHKO them.
Best Iron Leaves moves in Pokemon
The best Iron Leaves moves in Pokemon are Swords Dance, Psyblade, Leaf Blade, and Close Combat.
- With Swords Dance, it can boost its already impressive Attack stat by two stages, turning it into a formidable sweeper. I recommend using this when facing an opponent whose STAB moves are resisted by Iron Leaves.
- Psyblade is Iron Leaves’ signature move. Boasting 80 base power and 100% accuracy, the power of Psyblade gets buffed by a whopping 50% during Electric Terrain, making it deadly to use.
- Leaf Blade is a 90 base power move with a high critical hit ratio, making it another great addition to its moveset.
- Close Combat takes advantage of the Fighting Tera Type to gain STAB and dish out heavy damage output, thanks to being 120 base power. Keep in mind that using this move lowers its Defense and Special Defense by one stage, so use it carefully.
