Pokemon Go Adventure Week: Taken Over event – Raids, Shadow Cresselia & Special Research
Niantic/The Pokemon CompanyTeam Go Rocket‘s popular annual event is back in Pokemon Go featuring new Shadow Pokemon, challenging Raids, and plenty more. Go Rocket lineups have changed and you don’t want to be caught off guard.
So, here’s everything you need to know about the Adventure Week: Taken Over event.
Shadow Cresselia & all debuts in Pokemon Go Taken Over event
Shadow Cresselia debuted in Pokemon Go, and trainers will have to defeat Team Go Rocket Boss Giovanni to get it. A new Special Research story is available, allowing players to get a Super Rocket Radar to find and challenge Giovanni.
Team Go Rocket Grunts, on the other hand, got three new Shadow Pokemon: Shadow Timburr, Shadow Tirtouga, and Shadow Archen. Make sure you check their lineups to rescue these sought-after species.

Trainers who spin PokeStops during the Adventure Week: Taken Over event can get themed Field Research tasks to get some of these items.
Event bonuses
- Team Go Rocket will appear more frequently at PokeStops and in balloons.
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

The Adventure Week: Taken Over event runs until Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:59 PM (local time).
Meanwhile, Adventure Week 2024 kickstarted on August 2 and ends on August 12, so you’ll have a lot to do with two ongoing events.
Keep an eye on the Pokemon Go event schedule to know what else is coming to the game, and make sure to challenge Mega Aerodactyl and Mega Kangaskhan while you can.
