Pokemon Go is ready to kick-off its new season, World of Wonders, with a new event. Before some fan-favorite Pokemon debut in the mobile game, Niantic revealed the first event in March 2024: Charged-Up Research Day.

Pokemon Go Charged-Up Research Day event date & time
The Charged-Up Research Day event will take place on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 2 PM to 5 PM (local time) in Pokemon Go.
Pokemon Go Charged-Up Research Day featured species & wild encounters
The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during the Charged-Up Research Day event:
- Pikachu*
- Voltorb*
- Plusle*
- Minun*
- Emolga
- Pawmi
On the other hand, completing event-themed Field Research tasks will reward players with an encounter with one of the following species:
- Chinchou*
- Electrike*
- Blitzle*
- Joltik*
- Helioptile*
Pokemon marked with (*) can be shiny in Pokemon Go. What’s more, the species you’ll encounter through Field Research tasks will have increased shiny chances.
Pokemon Go Charged-Up Research Day Timed Research
Pokemon Go players will be able to get the event-themed Timed Research for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) during the Charged-Up Research Day event. “This Timed Research will challenge you to complete Field Research tasks to encounter more of the featured Pokemon of your choice,” reads the official description.
This means players will be able to get additional encounters with Chinchou, Electrike, Blitzle, Joltik, or Helioptile during the event. Remember their shiny chances will be boosted during the event.
Trainers must complete all tasks and claim all rewards before Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 5 PM (local time).
