Pokemon Go community divided about new Team Rocket Taken Treasures event

Pokemon Go players started a heated debate on whether adding Shadow Kyogre could be good or bad for the game. However, some players are more concerned about other issues regarding the upcoming Taken Treasures event.

Players enjoying the latest Pokemon Go season, Timeless Travels, are usually debating if the content drops that Niantic brings for the game are up to standards or not. Recently, this debate has taken another turn with the announcement of the Taken Treasures event and the upcoming debut of Shadow Kyogre.

Some players are outright happy with this news, as the new Shadow Pokemon will be added to the current meta, which could do great to dethrone the undisputed king of PvP: Shadow Gligar. However, some members of the community are concerned about the introduction of new game-breaking mons into the mix.

However, for other Pokemon Go players, the debut of the new Shadow Pokemon is secondary to their worries about more event tickets being “used as a paywall.”

Posted by Reddit user ‘Amiibofan101’ on TheSilphRoad Pokemon Go subreddit, this post was intended to showcase many of the debuts that will arrive when the Taken Treasures event begins. However, a heated debate began when one of the players suggested: “Won’t Shadow Kyogre break the game?”

And many players agreed with what this Pokemon Go fan said, though, the community was a little split between excitement and frustration, as one of the players pointed out that they were tired of Event Tickets: “Yay, more tickets!!! But seriously, this is the 10th non CD ticket this season. Ticketed events seriously lost their novelty by now.”

Meanwhile, a frustrated Pokemon Go user expressed: “Sure Shadow Kyogre is nice but still. I just hate how there are SO many pokes not found in the wild when going outside and hunting pokes is literally the game. So much stuff is eggs and Raid only.”

Other players think that the meta will change for good, and are happy to see the end of the reign of terror of some of the current meta Pokemon as one of them expressed: “RIP Shadow Swampert.” And another trainer added: “Does this mean we will get Groundon and Rayquaza after?”

Be it that you are excited about the introduction of Shadow Kyogre or worried about the changes in the PvP/PvE meta, we will be right beside you to inform you of every new change coming to the game.

In the meantime, you can also check the next Spotlight Hour Event scheduled and the new Raids coming in January for Pokemon Go.
