A new Pokemon Go event is rolling out worldwide and players can complete a new Collection Challenge to earn a medal. Here’s everything you need to know about it alongside the Dark Flames Field Research tasks and rewards.

The Dark Flames event has gone live in Pokemon Go during its Hidden Gems season. Trainers have the chance to encounter many Fire and Dark-type Pokemon in the wild and through all kinds of Research. The latest event also brought Turtonator’s debut alongside a new Collection Challenge for players to complete.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at all the Collection Challenge and Field Research tasks and rewards that arrived with the new Pokemon Go event.

How to complete the Dark Flames Collection Challenge in Pokemon Go

The Dark Flames Collection Challenge is available in Pokemon Go until Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 8 PM (local time). You’ll need to complete the first step of the Dark Flames Timed Research and choose a path to unlock one of the two possible Collection Challenges. Players must get every Pokemon on the list to earn an Elite Collector Medal:

Fire-type Pokemon

  • Litten – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Vulpix – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Houndour – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Numel – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Galarian Zigzagoon – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Ninetales – Evolved from Vulpix spending 50 Candy.
  • Camerupt – Evolved from Numel spending 50 Candy.
  • Incineroar – Evolved from Torracat (Litten’s evolution) spending 100 Candy (125 Candy total).

Dark-type Pokemon

  • Poochyena – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Carvanha – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Houndour – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Stunky – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Litwick – Can be caught in the wild.
  • Mightyena – Evolved from Poochyena spending 50 Candy.
  • Sharpedo – Evolved from Carvanha spending 50 Candy.
  • Incineroar – Evolved from Torracat (Litten’s evolution) spending 100 Candy (125 Candy total).

Players that complete this challenge before the end of the event will earn 5000 XP and 100 Houndoom Mega Energy encounters.

Pokemon Go Dark Flames Field Research tasks & rewards

Pokemon Go players that spin PokeStops during the Dark Flames event might get an event-exclusive Field Research task. Here’s the full list of event-themed tasks and rewards:
