NianticPokemon Go is set to receive more content when the Dark Flames event goes live, including new Pokemon, Field Research task encounters, and more. Here’s everything we know about the Pokemon Go Dark Flames event.
Pokemon Go players are being treated to events that add new content for them to enjoy, with the handheld title currently celebrating its seventh anniversary with the Pokemon Go Fest event that marks the debut of Mega Rayquaza.

Pokemon Go Dark Flames event schedule
The Dark Flames event is set to begin on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 10 AM local time and continue until Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 8 PM local time. These dates were officially confirmed by the developers in the Pokemon Go blog.
Pokemon Go Dark Flames event Raid encounters
During the Dark Flames event, you will encounter Dark and Fire-type Pokemon in Raids, including the debuts of Mega Sableye and Turtonato. You can also encounter Shiny versions of these Pokemon in Raids.

One-Star Raids:

- Darumaka
- Scraggy
- Deino
Three-Star Raids:
- Alolan Marowak
- Flareon
- Umbreon

Pokemon Go Dark Flames wild spawns
When the Pokemon Go Dark Flames event goes live, certain Pokemon will appear more often as wild spawns in the game.

Pokemon Go Dark Flames Field Research task encounters
The Dark Flames event will bring new Field Research for players to tackle worldwide. When tackling this Field Research, you can encounter Shiny versions of Alolan Meowth, Magmar, Turtonator, and other Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Dark Flames Event Bonuses
Pokemon Go players will be able to enjoy the following Dark Flames Event Bonuses:
- Additional 25% XP for completing raids
- Trainers level 31 and above will receive one additional Candy XL for completing raids
- Three additional Candy for completing raids
Pokemon Go Dark Flames Collection Challenge
During the Dark Flames event, players will have the opportunity to complete a Collection Challenge and earn 5,000 XP along with 100 Houndoom Mega Energy.
Pokemon Go Dark Flames Branching Timed Research
New Timed Research will arrive with the Dark Flames event, and this will allow players to choose between Fire-type or Dark-type Pokémon paths. Completing these tasks will grant you Premium Battle Pass, 15,000 XP along with encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
