The latest app update for Pokemon Go has brought a frustrating Go Plus+ connection issue to the game and the community is not happy. However, a user’s post about this drew a helpful response from Niantic alongside other fixes suggested by fellow players.

Most updates in Pokemon Go bring in a host of new features such as Routes or a new generation of Pokemon altogether. However, the newest update that has arrived close on the heels of the A Paldean Adventure event seems to have “broken” the popular Go Plus+ connectivity feature in the game.

But a user’s social media post about the issue prompted a response from the Pokemon Go devs themselves, as well as plenty of other fans who shared their own fixes to the problem.

Niantic shares how to fix “broken” Pokemon Go Plus+ connection issue after update

Popular Pokemon Go influencer ‘Qshinys’ shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) that showed the “Failed to connect to device” message appearing on the screen when he tried to connect the game with the Go Plus+ device. Other players shared similar issues, saying they were worried their device was “broken.”

Pokemon Go Plus+ is a device that can be paired with Pokemon Go and lets you play the game without having to continuously check your mobile. With the device, you can automatically throw Poke Balls and spin PokeStops in the game.

However, after updating the game to the latest 0.281.3 version, several players were unable to connect Go Plus+ with Pokemon Go.

As more similar comments began to pour in, Pokemon Go developers Niantic came to their rescue by suggesting quick fixes to this problem. Replying to one player, the devs recommended:

  • Clear the Bluetooth devices
  • Download all game assets

They also suggested, “restart your device and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data before trying to log in again” to another player who claimed: “[I] updated my phone yesterday and now the game won’t open.”

In addition, there were comments included by others in the Pokemon Go community who offered helpful suggestions to get rid of the connectivity issues.

One of them wrote: “Mine just had me toggle both the auto-spin and auto-catch off, Exit out. Re-enable. Then it was back up and running.”

Another mentioned: “It didn’t work for me for a few minutes so I just unpaired and paired it again. Hasn’t given me any issues at all since!”

It’s quite obvious that it was a pressing issue that affected many after the recent update. However, it was nice to see Niantic and several others helping those affected by it.

Now that you will be able to do the update without any worry, you can also check out how you can use the Pokemon Go Plus+ in silent mode and the details of this month’s Community Day.
