Pokemon Go event schedule for August 2024
NianticPokemon Go adds new species, shinies, and rewards every season through special limited-time events with bonuses and other benefits.
However, keeping track of all the new content coming to the mobile game can be quite challenging.
So, here’s the Pokemon Go event schedule with every event coming in August 2024.

- Adventure Week 2024 (August 2 – August 12)
- Adventure Week: Taken Over (August 8 – August 12)
- Shadow Raid Weekend (August 10 – August 11)
- 2024 Pokemon World Championships & Go Battle Week: Shared Skies (August 16 – August 20)
- Beldum Community Day Classic (August 18)
- Triumph Together (August 23 – August 30)
- Popplio Community Day (August 31)
Niantic have already revealed the seven events coming in August 2024, although some details are kept under wraps. Adventure Week is back to set the spotlight on Fossil Pokemon like Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt, and Amaura.
Additionally, trainers can now face Team Go Rocket in a new Takeover event that refreshed the lineups for Leaders Sierra, Cliff, Arlo, and Boss Giovanni. That event will also feature a Shadow Raid Weekend featuring Shadow Lugia.
Lastly, the August Community Day is reserved for Popplio, while the Community Day Classic event will feature the popular Beldum.

Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour is a weekly event held every Tuesday from 6 PM to 7 PM (local time). During that hour, trainers can enjoy boosted spawns of the featured species alongside a special bonus to stock up on Candy, XP, Stardust, and more.
August 2024 Raid Hours in Pokemon Go
- Moltres* – August 7
- Thundurus (Incarnate Forme)* – August 14
- Xerneas* – August 21 and 28
Species marked with (*) can be shiny in Pokemon Go.
Raid Hours are also weekly events and they take place every Wednesday from 6 PM to 7 PM (local time). All Gyms with active Raids feature the current 5-Star Raid boss during that time, allowing players to catch powerful species regularly.
When is the next in-person Pokemon Go event?
- Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey (August 24 – August 25)
- Pokemon Go City Safari: Jakarta (September 21 – September 22)
- Pokemon Go City Safari: Incheon (September 27 – September 29)
After Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey, the next in-person events will be two Pokemon Go City Safari held in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Incheon, South Korea, in September 2024.
The events will feature species like Flying Pikachu, Tropius, and Skiddo, allowing players to capture these rare Pokemon. These are ticketed events, meaning you must buy a General Admission ticket to enjoy the event’s features and bonuses in the designated locations.
