Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global event dates
The Pokemon Go Fest 2023 Global event will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, and Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 10 AM to 6 PM local time each day. “Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global is a virtual, ticketed event that Trainers can participate in wherever they play—some features will also be available to Trainers without a ticket,” reads the official announcement.
Global tickets are available for purchase in-game and will remain available up until the last day of the event. Players can buy them for $14.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) and can’t use PokeCoins to get them. Additionally, trainers who purchased a ticket to one of the in-person Go Fest events can also purchase a ticket for Go Fest 2023: Global.
Prior to the global event, players were able to participate in the Pokemon Go Fest 2023 in-person celebrations across three different cities.
Carbink & Diancie debuts in Pokemon Go Fest 2023
As many trainers suspected, both Carbink and Diancie will be the headliners of Pokemon Go Fest 2023 in both in-person and global events. After their debuts in the London, Osaka, and New York events, Carbink and Diancie will be available globally for players around the world.
Players who purchased a Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global ticket before July 5 and played between June 21 and July 5 received a Timed Research that awards an encounter with Carbink. Luckily, the Jewel Pokemon will also appear in Field Research encounters for all trainers during the global event in August.
Diancie, on the other hand, will only be available for ticket holders that complete a Special Research story. Those who don’t get tickets for the global event will be able to encounter it eventually through Special Research, as it happened before with other Mythical Pokemon.
What’s more, Mega Diancie is also debuting in the Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global event. This is the first time a Pokemon has a double debut arriving simultaneously with their Mega Evolution. After the London, Osaka, and New York events, ticket holders will be able to get Mega Diancie.
Mega Rayquaza debut in Pokemon Go Fest 2023
As rumors suggested, Mega Rayquaza also debuted during Pokemon Go Fest 2023. The Mega Evolution of the Sky High Pokemon headlined Raids in the in-person events first. Then, on Sunday, August 27, it will headline Raids globally. Mega Rayquaza introduced players to Meteorites, an item needed to Mega Evolve the Legendary Pokemon in the game.
