Pokemon Go Gyms & PokeStops completely vanish due to “annoying” bug

A bug causing Pokemon Go‘s Gyms and PokeStops to disappear is getting on players’ nerves as they’re left at a standstill with nothing to do.

Both these in-game features are necessary to get Poke Balls and Berries for catching Pokemon, with some rare spawns like Kecleon and Gimmighoul requiring Poke Stops to be found.

So, several players chimed in with their complaints when Reddit user ‘EmptyRook’ asked the community if they too had been facing this bug resulting in Gyms and PokeStops going missing.

Trainers said they faced this several times a day, with the issue even popping up when feeding Berries to Gym Defenders.

Giving Berries to Pokemon is one of the most common activities as it helps Gym Defenders stay longer and bring 50 PokeCoins and even Candy to trainers.

But, it appears that the bug is making matters even worse, particularly for Gyms. “The bug sucks on its own, but when you couple it with the other bug where the app can’t recover from a gym failing to load (which has been the case since the gym rework in 2017), it’s infuriating,” a player stated.

While some were able to restore normalcy after restarting the game, others struggled to play even after doing it multiple times. Only after several attempts do they manage to find Gyms and PokeStops again.

Fans slammed this “annoying” problem and asked why random things “break” from time to time. However, many speculated the reason behind the bug.

“This may be a sign of Niantic implementing some new code into the game… I’m sure it is about the new feature coming this year,” a user explained before others pointed out that the “feature” in question was Dynamax, the Gen 8 gimmick debuting down the line.

While this bug is undoubtedly frustrating, you can take on PvP matches in the Pokemon Go Battle League or face Team Rocket Grunts appearing in balloons.
