Pokemon Go leaks claim iconic starter will headline first Dynamax Raids
NianticWith the eagerly-awaited Dynamax and Gigantamax forms coming soon to Pokemon Go, the latest leaks have shed light on the first group of species starring in the featured Raid battles.
While Dynamax is a Gen 8 gimmick, players will be able to face certain Gen 1 species in Raids, starting with the beloved Bulbasaur family.
Dynamax (DMax) involves a Pokemon growing into a gigantic version of itself with an increased HP stat, similar to how Raid Bosses work. However, the moves they use in battles have secondary effects. Gigantamax (GMax) is the same as Dynamax, but the species in question changes its appearance.
A post by The Pokemod Group’ claimed that Bulbasaur will be the first species to get the Dynamax treatment in Pokemon Go along with some tier groups for “Bread,” the code word for Dynamax used by devs Niantic.
The community was naturally excited with the update, speculating that the tier groups referenced in the leaks could indicate the iconic starter‘s final evolution. A fan wrote, “This would mean the Bulbasaur would evolve into a Venusaur with a GMax factor.”
Bulbasaur is the first Pokemon in the Pokedex, so it would make sense to introduce its evolution Venusaur as the debut GMax form.
The other starters, Charizard and Blastoise, and some popular Gen 1 species like Pikachu, Eevee, Butterfree, Machamp, and Kingler all have unique GMax forms too. So, these popular grabs are all expected to be in the first wave of Dmax and GMax in the game and may debut in the next Season starting on September 3, 2024.
As you await the official announcement of Dynamax and Gigantamax in Pokemon Go, save your perfect IV and shiny versions of Gen 1 species since they could be powerhouses for Raids and Team Go Rocket battles.
