After Festival of Colors, the Rising Heroes season of Pokemon Go is celebrating its next in-game event. Let’s Go focuses on very sought-after Pokemon including Meltan and Ditto and will feature a new Team Go Rocket takeover with new shadow Pokemon and much more.

Pokemon Go Let’s Go event dates
The Pokemon Go Let’s Go event runs from Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 10 AM to Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 8 PM local time.
How to get shiny Meltan in Pokemon Go Let’s Go event
The only way to get Meltan in Pokemon Go is via the Mystery Box and the Let’s Go event won’t change that. Players must send Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home or the Nintendo Switch games Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee!
During the Let’s Go event, Pokemon Go players will be able to open the Mystery Box more frequently. There will be an increased chance of getting shiny Meltan as well as XXS and XXL sizes of it. Players need 400 Meltan Candy to evolve it into Melmetal.
Pokemon Go Let’s Go event Field and Seasonal Special Research
The Pokemon Go Let’s Go event features new Field Research quests that will have Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour encounters as rewards. These Pokemon are regional exclusives that’ll be available worldwide during the Let’s Go event and will also appear in the wild.

Pokemon Go Let’s Go event new Ditto disguises
Ditto changed disguises during the Let’s Go event in Pokemon Go and can appear as one of the following Pokemon:
- Digglet
- Grimer
- Snubbull
- Corphish
- Starly
- Roggenrola
- Tympole
- Litleo
Lucky players might encounter shiny Ditto during the event as well.
Pokemon Go Let’s Go event bonuses
The Pokemon Go Let’s Go event in March features the following bonuses:
- Reduced waiting time for opening the Mystery Box.
- Increased chance of finding XXS and XXL Meltan.
- Increased chance of finding Ditto disguised as other Pokemon.
- 2x Candy for transferring Pokemon.
Pokemon Go Let’s Go event wild encounters
The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during the Let’s Go event in March:
- Digglet
- Grimer
- Snubbull
- Corphish
- Starly
- Pansage
- Pansear
- Panpour
- Roggenrola
- Tympole
- Litleo
- Trubbish
- Galarian Stunfisk
- Goomy
Goomy is the only Pokemon on that list that won’t appear in shiny form during the Let’s Go event.
Pokemon Go Let’s Go event Raid bosses
The following Pokemon will be featured in Raids during the Pokemon Go Let’s Go event in March:
5-Star Raids
- Incarnate Forme Thundurus
- Lugia
Mega Raids
- Mega Venusaur
- Mega Alakazam

Pokemon Go Let’s Go event Collection Challenge
The Pokemon Go Let’s Go event features a new event-themed Collection Challenge. Players who complete the Collection Challenge will receive an encounter with Meltan and 5,000 XP as reward.

New Team Go Rocket takeover in Pokemon Go Let’s Go event
The Pokemon Go Let’s Go event will also feature a new Team Go Rocket takeover headlined by Shadow Regice. This takeover will run from Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10 AM to Wednesday, March 29, at 8 PM local time.
A new Special Research story will be available for players to earn a Super Rocket Radar to face Giovanni. The Team Go Rocket Boss will have a powerful Shadow Regice in his team.
Team Go Rocket Leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo, as well as Grunts, will change their lineups with new Shadow Pokemon that include Shadow Alolan Grimer, Shadow Phanpy, Shadow Treecko, Shadow Torchic, and Shadow Drifloon.
During the Team Go Rocket takeover in March 2023, Grunts and Leaders will appear more frequently at PokeStops and in balloons and players will be able to use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Attack Frustration. There will also be new Field Research tasks awarding a Mysterious Component.
