Pokemon Go Season 12 Adventures Abound is in full swing, with the upcoming Ultra Unlock: Paldea event happening soon, and the Community Day Grubbin event on the schedule. Now, the devs have announced a Research Day event featuring Oddish, the weed Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Oddish Research Day date & time

Pokemon Go will celebrate Oddish Research Day on Sunday, September 17, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. Unlike regular Community Days, this event will be based on completing Field Research and triggering encounter rewards with the featured Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Oddish Research Day rewards & bonuses

During the Pokemon Go Oddish Research Day, trainers who participate will be able to encounter Oddish each time they complete a Field Research. Oddish will have a greater chance of being shiny in these encounters.

The following bonuses will be active until the event ends:

• 2x Stardust for catching Pokemon
• Increased chance of finding XXS or XXL Oddish
• Wild Oddish may be holding a Sun Stone
• Increased chances of encountering a shiny Oddish

Pokemon Go Oddish Research Day encounters

The following Pokemon will have their spawn rates boosted during the Pokemon Go Oddish Research event, and if you are lucky, you can find those marked with a (*) in their shiny forms.

• Paras*
• Venonat*
• Bellsprout*
• Shroomish*
• Roselia*
• Cacnea*
• Foongus*
• Bounsweet

Keep in mind that this event doesn’t boost shiny chances for these encounters, so the shiny rate will remain the same as usual. The odds of encountering one of these shiny Pokemon will be 1 in 500 or 0.2% chance.

Is shiny Oddish available in Pokemon Go?

Yes, shiny Oddish and its shiny evolutions are available in Pokemon Go. If you are aiming to get a shiny Vileplume or Bellossom on your Pokemon Go team, this is the perfect chance to get them.

Remember, only encounters with Oddish in the wild and Field Research reward encounters have their shiny chances boosted.
