Pokemon Go players can finally complete impossible Mythical Research after six years
NianticPokemon Go trainers stuck in the Let’s Go Meltan Special Research can breathe a sigh of relief as the quest’s most notorious task can finally be done and dusted.
The Mythical Research quest released in 2018 includes catching two Lileep or Anorith. However, most players fell short due to the rarity of these Pokemon. But now, one of the Spotlight Hour events announced for August 2024 includes Lileep.
With countless spawns guaranteed for an entire hour during this event, completing the 6-year-old quest to catch two Anorith or Lileep is child’s play.
One such trainer eagerly awaiting the chance to catch Lileep is Reddit user ‘5c0uty’ who posted about finally being able to wrap up the task.
Fans eagerly awaiting a chance to get the task off their plate were beyond excited, as comments included: “I saw this yesterday and screamed” and “This pain is real. I’m looking forward to that spotlight hour so much.”
While Lileep is also a reward for the ‘Make 3 Great Throws in a row’ Field Research task, many people, like the OP, hadn’t come across it. Even those who managed to get it could only catch one Lileep or Anorith, leaving them desperate for a second encounter.
The Lileep Spotlight Hour takes place on August 13 and will run from 6 PM to 7 PM local time. Since there’s no need to search for these spawns, it’s a foolproof method to get the job done.
It appears that August also helps players complete another task at the same stage of the Research as the Lileep quest – Catch an Aerodactyl.
Fans pointed out that the Adventure Week 2024 event has Aerodactyl among the featured spawns. That said, it will be rarer than other wild Pokemon so you need to be patient.
Once you get Meltan from completing the Research, evolve it into Melmetal, one of the most dominant Master League species in Pokemon Go.
