Getting Dusk Lycanroc is incredibly hard in Pokemon Go as players need to hatch Rockruff that specifically evolves into this rare species. But, an update to Eggs now makes it easier to add it to your collection.

Previously, there was no way to know if the Rockruff included in the Adventure Sync Egg pool would be evolvable to Dusk Lycanroc. But, the 0.319.0 version has added an icon next to the Pokemon to indicate the coveted evolution.

This was discovered by Reddit user ‘kapilsnow’ who shared their finding in a post on The Silph Road subreddit.

The screenshot shared by the OP showed two different Rockruff among the possible hatches separated by their rarity, with the one that can evolve into Dusk Lycanroc having a ‘dusk’ icon next to it.

It’s important to note that Rockruff normally evolves either into the Midday or Midnight Form, based on whether you evolve it during the day or night. The rarer hatch has a specific ‘Evolve’ button with the silhouette of the Dusk Form, which you can get at any time.

A fan said they were “glad they added this at a convenient time so players did not waste passes and incubators,” especially with a grand event like Go Fest 2024 closing in.

Many trainers were still baffled why Dusk Form Lycanroc was so ridiculously rare in the mobile game. To this, a player mentioned that this scarcity is present in mainline games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as well.

Remember that Rockruff is only available in 10km Eggs obtained from completing 50km through Adventure Sync, not the regular 10km Eggs found by spinning PokeStops or Gyms.

This update will make it easier for the community to prioritize Eggs and purchase Incubators when they receive Eggs containing this coveted Pokemon. Speaking of rare catches, have a look at how you can get Larvesta, Frigibax, and Kecleon.
