Pokemon Go players can’t believe “huge W” Mega Rayquaza makeup event is real
NianticThe Mega Rayquaza makeup event has won over Pokemon Go players as it features several perks that make it a welcome departure from Elite Raids.
Elite Raids have plenty of restrictions, ranging from being featured in limited Gyms to not letting the battles be done remotely. This makes it incredibly difficult for players to gather people and take down the featured Pokemon.
These factors made June’s Elite Raids a mess, with most of the community unable to do a single battle. Now, the makeup event throws all the restrictions out of the window, making it a regular Raid event accessible to all trainers.
So, when prominent player ‘g47onik’ shared the event’s details in a Reddit post, the community celebrated the opportunity to bag the OP Mega Rayquaza.
Several users lauded Niantic for the “huge W,” saying they were hyped. One player even commented: “Whoever is working at Niantic’s event department is doing something RIGHT.”
Another said, “They could’ve just made it an Elite raid and leave it at that, but the fact that they’re treating this as a standard raid day/hour deal is an absolute win.”
The Mega Rayquaza Raids will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024, with the battles scheduled for 11 AM, 1 PM, and 6 PM local time. This gives everyone a time window to take on the Dragon/Flying-type Boss at their convenience.
Perhaps a bigger surprise, many were shocked to know that the Raids can be battled remotely, a feature many have demanded for Elite Raids. That’s not all, as the Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 20 from the usual five per day.
Earlier, the devs were also praised for honoring their typo about rewarding 13 additional Passes during Mega Lucario Raid Day on July 27, leaving the community pleased with Niantic’s decisions during the Shared Skies Season.
To beat Mega Rayquaza easily, use strong Ice and Fairy-type counters in Pokemon Go, including Mamoswine, Baxcalibur, and Mega Gardevoir.
