The Party Up Research received a lukewarm response from Pokemon Go trainers as they called out Niantic for the “ridiculous” Party Play-themed quests and underwhelming rewards.

After the Party Play feature in Pokemon Go arrived with glitches that were later sorted, the community didn’t warm up to the addition even though it offers an exciting way to catch Pokemon and win Raids easily.

With the game now hosting the Party Up event that revolves around Party Play, fans appear to be annoyed by the event-exclusive Research quest that seems to do them no favors.

A user named ‘Magician_In_Black’ posted a screengrab of the tasks and rewards included in the Party Up Timed Research and stated: “It seems I won’t be completing this one” while also adding that “It’s a good thing that the rewards aren’t that good or I would have been annoyed. Hope Niantic does make any more events focused on parties.”

The post led to comments from several Pokemon Go players, most of whom wanted nothing to do with the Party Play addition and the Timed Research.

Users trolled Niantic straight off the bat with comments such as: “Plz Niantic I don’t want to play this game with my friends I just want to go for walks by myself” and “Stop trying to make parties happen, Niantic!”

A fan mentioned: “This Party thing is ridiculous,” before others added that the Party Up Timed Research was “annoying” as they hardly have friends to complete the quests with.

“The only time I get to play with my friends is when we meet up for community days and only if it’s one everyone even wants,” a trainer explained, as another wrote: “I feel this so hard. Won‘t be able to do this at all either, because I have nobody to play with.”

That’s not all as the underwhelming nature of the rewards doesn’t seem to be motivating trainers to even explore Party Play to complete the Research.

The double damage in Raids from Party Play is the only feature welcomed by players.

“I swear these devs are delusional, the one game that doesn’t reward you for actually spending time in their game, they want you to grind like it’s homework for sh*t rewards that aren’t even worth it,” a player complained.

You should note that the reward for completing the Timed Research is a Party Hat Wurmple and needless to say, the response to this includes comments like: “Seriously? For completing all the challenges you get a Party Hat Wurmple?”

Finding in-person friends to complete the Timed Research is certainly difficult and perhaps the Pokemon Go community would have been more eager if the rewards were worth the grind.
