Many Pokemon Go players are sick of spawns of the Gen 5 Fighting-type regional species Sawk, while others look forward to them due to their fondness for the shiny.

The Raging Battles event in Pokemon Go features the debuting Gen 9 species Annihilape and focuses on Go Battle League PvP battles while also hosting spawns of several Fighting-type Pokemon in the wild.

Among the various Fighting-type species, it appears that one particular Mon has caught the attention of the Pokemon Go community, the Gen 5 regional Sawk that is available all across the world during the event alongside Throh.

It all started when a user named ‘PharmDevil’ shared a post captioned with: “Anyone else catch this guy for the dex entry then not interested in him anymore?” as they also attached a screengrab of a wild Sawk in Pokemon Go.

The post led to comments from several Pokemon Go fans who had both good and bad things to say about the regional species.

Trainers frustrated with coming across Sawk commented: “Yeah I hate these guys for some reason. It’s one of those like who did they make this for and is this really anyone’s favorite?” and “I hate him. He makes me physically sick to look at.”

Others added why the Pokemon gets so much hate. “He ugly and weird looking. Creeps me out,” a person wrote before another stated: “Sawk is completely irrelevant in both PvE and PvP.” One user gave another reason: “He’s too damn far away not worth wasting balls on.”

While more fans joined the bandwagon, it appears that a good number of them like Sawk, as they commented: “I like him a lot” and “He’s my favorite actually.”

Those who are eager to catch Sawk had one particular reason. “I want a shiny so bad even though it’s not useful,” one person mentioned, as others wrote: “I like him. Especially his shiny” and “He’s got a pretty cool shiny.”

A few players went on to say that after getting shiny Sawk, they “don’t care about it now,” as they also mentioned they have “lost interest” in it.
