Pokemon Go players slam disappointing reward for finally clearing “cursed” Research quest
NianticWith the Therian Formes of the Forces of Nature trio in Pokemon Go Raids, many players can finally complete the 3-year-old Research quest, but the reward for completing the task has taken fans off-guard as they expected something much better.
Hardly any Pokemon Go Special Research has troubled players as much as the Season of Legends which required trainers to take snapshots of the Legendary trio of Landorus, Tornadus, and Thundurus.
While many missed the opportunity to get the job done in 2021, these three Pokemon are part of the Raids schedule of January 2024. But trainers who are all set to complete the daunting Research are in for a rude shock when they find out the reward of the quest that has been testing their patience for three long years!
After a user named ‘NoJohns137’ on Reddit shared a post of their reward “after spending money on Raid passes and YEARS of waiting.” They said, “The reward for taking a snapshot of Landorus, Tornadus, and Thundurus is a Munna. I guess I could have looked up what you get but god that’s so disappointing,” fellow players were shocked with the revelation of the underwhelming reward.
The post invited comments from frustrated Pokemon Go players who were unhappy with Munna being the reward for the quest, as one put it, “I’M JUST SAYING THAT SPENDING MONEY ON PASSES OR DRIVING OVER AN HOUR SHOULD GIVE ME MORE THAN A MUNNA.”
Users commented: “I also finally completed this, was also kinda sad that the reward was just a Munna” and “Thank you for crushing my dreams,” as the Pokemon is not meta-relevant in either PvP or PvE nor is it a sought-after species.
But funnily enough, some players, though disappointed with the reward, were relieved that the 3-year-old pending quest was finally done. “The reward is getting rid of this f**king cursed quest,” a fan chipped in.
Trainers should note that the snapshot of the Legendary should be taken in AR mode after it is caught and added to your collection. Doing it during the Raid encounter won’t count as completing the task.
The reward may be disappointing but you can cheer yourself up by getting some super rare species in Pokemon Go such as Frigibax and Larvesta.
