Pokemon Go players slam “underwhelming” Expert Box as waste of PokeCoins
NianticBoxes help Pokemon Go players grab useful in-game items for a certain number of PokeCoins. While they’re either a hit or miss, a new Box has appalled everyone with its cost and contents.
PokeCoins help Pokemon Go players purchase Remote Raid Passes, Egg Incubators, and other useful items that help catch Pokemon, including Legendaries. More often than not, many prefer to get these items from Boxes, having a bunch of items at an overall lower cost.
Now, a new one called the ‘Expert Box’ is available in the Pokemon Go Shop and has baffled players as it just doesn’t make sense. The details of this addition were shared by user ‘Elliot_ps’ in a Reddit post captioned with: “There’s no way anyone buys these right?”
The Expert Box contains 50 each of Razz, Pinap, and Nanab Berries, and costs a whopping 750 PokeCoins. As Berries are easily available in the game, the community didn’t take the offer so kindly.
Users said they had never seen one like this before and complained that the Niantic devs “just throw stuff in without thinking anymore.” Others called the Berries a waste of inventory space, as they can be easily obtained by spinning PokeStops and Gyms.
One person speculated that it could be aimed at rural Pokemon Go players but found it weird, as with the lack of PokeStops and Gyms, it is impossible to have so many PokeCoins to buy Boxes in the first place.
They added: “Nevertheless, rural players can also friend others and receive berries from gifts. That’s why I find these offers underwhelming.” Also, many claimed that they’d be eager to buy Boxes like this if only they also had Poffins, items that help get Best Buddies quickly.
Also, fans mentioned that spending money wouldn’t make sense as they could earn the same amount of PokeCoins in just a couple of weeks.
While the Expert Box may not be worth it, you can collect PokeCoins until Go Fest 2024 and use them to buy Remote Raid Passes for getting the Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings fusions of Necrozma.
