Pokemon Go players stunned as “hardcore” trainer grinds levels without even playing
NianticA Pokemon Go player has left fans in disbelief after reaching level 34 without catching any species, spinning zero PokeStops, being without a team, and not taking part in battles, as the trainer grinds toward level 40.
Leveling up in Pokemon Go is quite a daunting task as players catch countless Pokemon, beat Raids, participate in PvP and PvE battles, and spin PokeStops in various locations while using items like Lucky Eggs and Star Pieces.
These parts of the mobile game help the community level up and they cannot imagine taking on the grind without doing these tasks.
But a trainer seems to have a different plan altogether as they have taken up the never-before-seen challenge of getting to level 40 without playing the game but doing one simple task for the XP.
Reddit user ‘PrestyRS’ shared the Pokemon Go profile of the trainer in question, and wrote: “This guy is going for lvl 40 by catching 0 Pokemon, 0 battles, 0 stops spun, etc. His only form of XP is opening gifts.”
The post surprised many Pokemon Go fans, who lauded the trainer’s out-of-the-box grind in the comments section.
Impressed users lauded the “dedication” by commenting: “That’s hardcore! Good for him!” and “Damn… taking one of the most boring and tedious parts of this game and making it the only part of the game.”
Another said: “It’s really cool to see some players try something different, whether it’s playing without picking a team or things like this. I tip my hat to that. And if he’s interested in more friends, I would be open to adding him.”
Highlighting the player’s only method to farm XP, the OP mentioned: “He’s never sent me [Gifts] ever and I’ve been on his friends list for about 6 months. He just opens.” This prompted another user to point out that they are probably not sending back Gifts as they “can’t spin stops.”
Funnily enough, many fans were eager to be added to that person’s friend list and help them level up, as they declared: “I want to help them too!” and “I’d add him. I want to see when he reaches level 40.”
But the OP responded: “Unfortunately I don’t have their code or any way to get in touch with them. They’re the one that randomly added me. By far the coolest person on my entire friends list though!”
