Pokemon Go players are saying that Niantic is using “misleading” ads on their official page, and the community is furious with the devs.

The Pokemon Go community has shared some concerning theories about Niantic’s promotional ads, which show images of avatar items without the new changes. Pokemon trainers are roasting them for allegedly “misleading” players with “unclear and deceptive” images.

As you can see in the post shared by the whistleblower, the OP shows a comparative image between the old and the new avatar items, and they’re a perfect match. The redditors went as far as to mention that “Niantic’s marketing dept is getting lazier on each event.”

According to players, Niantic’s X post showcased the items without showing how they’ll look on the new avatars. The allegedly misleading image is still on display on their page, showing the items used by the old avatars. One of the angry players mentioned: “They had the time and opportunity to swap the avatars, but they deliberately chose not to use the new ones.”

Other members of the Pokemon Go Reddit community also pointed out that each event seems to have “recycled content,” and they explained why they believe the game is still successful despite the community’s complaints:

“Niantic and the Pokemon Company have proven time and time again that they can put in the absolute bare minimum of work and still make a killing on their products,” said a dissatisfied player. And then added: “Niantic seems to be no different. They can screw up their own game until the only other option is to just quit playing, but people still don’t.”

Of course, the majority of Pokemon Go players still enjoy the game, and every new event is an opportunity to catch exciting species and share with your friends. Whether you agree with Niantic using these tactics or not, you can still check what’s ahead for World of Wonders and all about the upcoming Rivals Week Event.
