Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn will celebrate its Global event with many activities, special spawns, and Primal Raids. We’ve got everything you need to know about the event celebrating Gen 3 Pokemon.

After celebrating Kanto and Johto regions in previous events, 2023’s Pokemon Go Tour will finally put the spotlight on Gen 3 Pokemon from the Hoenn region. The two-day event is full of activities, quests, and Research Tasks for players from all around the world and it will also feature the worldwide debut of Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre.

Following the ticketed in-person event held in Las Vegas last weekend, Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn – Global will offer a free experience with some different activities and rewards for all players.

Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn start date & time

The Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn Global event will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023, and Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 10 AM to 6 PM local time.

After some connectivity issues during the in-person event in Las Vegas, Niantic extended the duration to give players more chances at getting rewards. Make sure to check official social media accounts in case more issues arise during the Global event.

Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn Special Research – Chasing Legends

Pokemon Go players will be able to participate in a new Special Research featuring Rhi from the Go Ultra Recon Squad during the Go Tour: Hoenn event.

This Special Research will revolve around Hoenn folklore and the Red and Blue Orbs, items which are said to have some connection to Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon.

Shiny Jirachi is the featured reward for the new premium Masterwork Research in Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn.

Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn Masterwork Research – Wish Granted

Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn will also hold a Masterwork Research for trainers all around the world. Players that attended the in-person event in Las Vegas will be able to enjoy this Research with fewer steps to get the chance to catch a shiny Jirachi, the Wish Pokemon.

The rest of the players can buy tickets for this Masterwork Research in the in-game shop for $4.99 from Monday, February 20, 2023, at 10 AM PST until Monday, March 20, 2023, at 10 AM PST. The official site notes that these tickets cannot be purchased with PokeCoins and they’re nonrefundable.

Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn Ruby vs Sapphire Challenge

Pokemon Go is already offering players the chance to choose teams in the Ruby vs Sapphire Challenge ahead of the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event. If you’re wondering which team you should choose, you can check our guide with everything there is to know about this challenge.

Each hour, depending on which team completes more Field Research, all Trainers will see increased Primal Raids for either Primal Kyogre (Sapphire) or Primal Groudon (Ruby). Players’ actions will also increase the chance of encountering additional wild Pokemon. These are the encounters tied to each team:

For the first time in Pokémon Go, players will be able to encounter Shiny Unown H, Shiny Surskit, Shiny Gulpin, Shiny Torkoal, Shiny Cacnea, Shiny Tropius, and Shiny Relicanth during the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event. Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn new costumed Pikachu

Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn will introduce two new costumed Pikachu based on the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire games’ main characters.

Players can encounter Pikachu wearing Brendan’s hat and Pikachu wearing May’s bow in the wild during the Global event, and they can both be shiny.

The in-game store features cosmetics inspired by Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire’s main characters.
