The Pokemon Go Fest 2023 in Osaka, London, and New York already ended, and now, the Global Go Fest event has begun. But players are tremendously displeased with the rewards they will receive.

Pokemon Go Fest 2023 went and passed by, and not without incidents, as many Pokemon trainers in New York were unable to enjoy the festivities due to several connectivity issues. And now, Pokemon Go trainers are outraged to find out that the promised rewards for the Global event, are not what it says on the official site.

The problem resides in the fact that the official website of the event stated that “ticket holders can encounter Diancie through a special research that leads to an encounter.” This was promoted months ago, and only two days before the event started, Niantic stated that those who participated in the in-person events in Osaka, London, and NY wouldn’t get a chance to get a Diancie with the research.

Now, Pokemon Go fans are tremendously angry, and the Reddit community echoed the news, warning other players that they won’t get another chance to catch a Diancie, but instead, only a few candies.

User wertwer129 went back to check the facts and came up with this: “It seems to me to be unlawful: All tickets are advertised as allowing a Diancie encounter. You buy 2 separate tickets. You learn after the fact that you were never allowed a second Diancie encounter.” And added: “That definitely should have been in the terms and conditions BEFORE ticket purchase.”

One of the users said: “This is misleading advertising, no doubt.” And then clarified: “It’s clear as day that Diance is a deliverable to customers who pay for the Global Ticket. Niantic waited till most of the sales had been made before unilaterally reneging on a deliverable in the contract. In the corporate world, Niantic can be sued. Alas, players are always a forgiving bunch.”

Another angry player also added: “Pretty lame they just announced this now. There was no way anyone should have assumed this if it wasn’t explicit in the event details and Shaymin was done differently last year.”

This is a reference to last year’s event where Shaymin was delivered as part of the rewards in several instances, making it possible for the players to catch more than one.

It is uncertain if the Pokemon Go devs will respond to the accusations of the outraged fans, but the event is yet to come. So there’s still time for them to make an official announcement. We will keep you informed if this gets resolved in any way.

In the meantime, you can check the Spotlight Hour Schedule for August, and prepare yourself for the Paldea Starters with all the information about them.
